Overview

Comfort Suites Alamo-Riverwalk offers a convenient location, though families should note it is a 12-minute walk from the Riverwalk and situated in an area some guests found less than ideal for evening strolls. While some guests found the rooms in need of updating, with issues such as outdated air conditioning and dim lighting reported, others highlighted the cleanliness and comfortable beds. The breakfast is well-regarded for its variety, and the staff consistently receives praise for their exceptional helpfulness and attentiveness to guests' needs. Families should be aware that the pool and hot tub area can get busy and noisy, and parking is not free.

This hotel experience was a big mess. I’m not one to complain much but I’m actually really annoyed at this, especially when the review said it was an 8/10. First, check in was at 3…but we wanted to go over to the Alamo first so we got there a bit after 4. We were told there were no clean rooms and to come back later. We ended up finally getting to check in around 5. Frustrating…but we got over it quickly, they gave us free parking to make up for it. Then, we had to go downstairs 3 separate times on elevators that you HOPE would work to get new keys. The first time, I was told they didn’t work and then the second time it was because I deactivated them. When I did nothing other than take the key to the pool. Third, I have a family of 6, and they gave us 4 towels. My husband ended up slipping and injuring himself getting out of the shower because it was too wet. Luckily, he just had a bruise. Fourth, We asked for bedding for the pull out sofa, and were given a sheet, and were told to use the pillows from the beds. No blanket because they were wet bc they still needed to dry…so my kids just needed to freeze? Why don’t they have a surplus of blankets? Fifth, the room was pretty dirty. Dust all over the place and the phones were disgusting. The lamp and outlets in between the beds didn’t work. Sixth (I can’t believe I’m on SIX) the air conditioner leaked all over the room and the floor was soaking wet. We were told that is “normal condensation” but it definitely wasnt.

Definitely needs updating, old ac units keep the floors moldy smelling, the rooms are a bit too warm and humid. Over all the rooms were clean. Towels are nice and thick. The breakfast in the morning is great as far as selection. They do need some different coffee creamers to choose from. Staff is absolutely wonderful. Elias printed some papers for my work for me, he also caught us on our way in to bring me a set of extra bed linens for my children without being asked. We paid a very small fee for a late check out due to my work letting out later than anticipated I didn’t have to worry about 5 of my children and my husband who has cancer sitting in a car until I was released. They are empathetic and try their absolute best to cater to your needs for sure. Elias also offered me Coffe while I was working at 3am. Music from venue next door was loud and made it weird to sleep through. You honestly have to choose your battles with this hotel. There are great aspects and not so great ones but I will say we did not have a horrible stay.

Booked this hotel based on price and pictures. Price was great..the pictures were doctored so was very disappointed upon arrival. And there was a non-mentioned charge of $15 per day parking fee. Also, it is about a 12 minute walk to the Riverwalk. But the area this hotel is located in I would not want to walk around. The room was dimly lit even with the curtain open. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was great(needs an upgrade to adjustable head). The pool and hot tub area is small and if there are children it is very noisy and crowded. It's clean and quiet and the staff is friendly and helpful. We won't stay again but for the time we were there it was ok.

It was not the nicest room for a special celebration. It was not a cheap booking but the hotel lacked basic cleanliness. The bedding and furniture had some concerning stains. It was very concerning, since some family members have asthma issues. Please read reviews and don’t completely trust pictures. The staff were pretty nice but not the nicest hotel. Thank you.

Everyone was very nice and helpful! The pool was not clean. We went out to the pool twice and small children were in the hot tub.

Mislead by "comfort inn riverwalk" had to walk through shady areas at night with my children to go to and come back from riverwalk. Also my reservation was canceled and i was never notified so when we got there after driving for 8 hours had to sit on phone for an hour to get things figured out. Wallpaper was coming off and tub was clogged

The room is old & had bad odor smell. Also it’s very dark not enough lights. I booked the room have sofa bed. There are bed bugs on sofa bed. My family got bed bug bite. The bathroom even worst. Water not run smoothly & dirty. Paid parking but parked under the bridge in ghetto area that we saw homeless walked around. It was 1st time ever i have stayed in the room like this. Definitely never be back. They said it was non refundable cancel policy so they can’t help with it. I wouldn’t be so mad if there aren’t bed bug bite on my family. I stayed only a night so i didnt notice bug bite & dirty room next morning when the sun is shine. Room was so dark. I can only smell the bad old odor room. Very bed experience over all
