Comfort Inn Gurnee near Six Flags

This hotel and room is really gross, and there was a bug in my room as well as dirty sheets, headboards are disgusting, looks like this hasn’t been cleaned properly in years. The staff is nice but I wouldn’t stay here again if someone paid me to. I was scared to touch anything or let my stuff touch anything. The blankets stunk like they also weren’t washed. The staff was nice but I think they live in the hotel, which is awkward. The pool is over saturated with chemicals and no ventilation so it’s really hard to breathe in there. I let my child swim for 5 minutes before we had to leave the room because we needed air. It was also a lot deeper than posted. My daughter is 49” tall and could barely touch the bottom at the 3’6” shallow end. The shallow end ladder was out of order as well. The whole hotel needs to be deep cleaned, repainted, floors redone, new linens and furniture. The lamps had something splattered on them, under the bathroom sink the wall had something splattered, sheets were stained and not changed, blankets smelled like body odor, headboard was sticky with hairs all over it, outlets didn’t work in the lamps. I’m not sure what bug it was crawling on the floor because my husband killed it without the light on. Breakfast waffles were good, coffee was not strong and cereal options were cheerios and Raisin Bran. I tried contacting hotels.com and they couldn’t do anything except contact the hotel, and they didn’t say anything to me to fix the problem.

Worst stay ever! Terrible room, dirty rooms, loud kids running on top of our room. Complained several times to front desk and NOTHING!! Very very disappointed in the entire stay! Elevators were dirty, halls had not been cleaned

Upon arrival, we were very excited until we got into our room and realized all of our bedding on both the sofa and the actual bed were dirty and looked used with hair, food and some items that appeared to look like blood dried up. We then requested to have new bedding brought into the room while we go out to dinner. The front desk clerk on Sunday the 21st was very sweet and very accommodating. She reached out to the staff, they only brought one bedding up so then the couch was still without bedding for my children. Then we removed rooms to avoid the issue just to come into another room with dirty bedding, hair and trash on the linen and still no bedding on the sofa. I was extremely upset and felt disappointed after spending the amount of money with no credit or refund option.

We had roaches in our room. Told front desk wed be leaving early and were still charged 3 nights! Very upset. My kids had a awful time at this hotel.. after qe switched hotels everything was much better.

very nice budget friendly family run hotel. staff was friendly and helpful. Property was clean. quick drive to Six Flags

I checked in went to the room & was totally disappointed with what I saw. Tye sheets was nasty trash was still on the floor…so me & my family decided not to stay & they only refundee us for one night si they charged me a hundred dollars because their hotel was nasty….they’re all living in this MOTEL including the housekeepers….

I didn’t even check in. I arrived and my family had checked in and was waiting in the lobby area. The bedding in both rooms were filthy. The linen was yellow stained. They offered to change the sheets but we decided to leave. I didn’t trust that they even cleaned anything at this point. The pictures are not what this place looks like.

The staff/ owners were very nice and this was a plus. My family and I felt very welcomed and their friendliness improved our stay. Breakfast was simple but enough. The rooms were clean. I would stay here again, it’s so close to the mall.

This hotel is in a great location so that was a plus. It's family owned, but it absolutley needs some serious upgrades! You can tell they haven't put much money into the up keep. And the breakfast was laughable but at least they offered something! They also need to hire better staff and offer some training because the people working there were quite dense. Not welcoming at all. They seemed unintrested and half sleep the whole time we were there. We asked for more towels and they act like it was against the rules or something! My kids enjoyed the pool however we had to deal with a karen! So yea over all id give them a 1/5. Definitely won't ever stay there again! Save your money folks. Unless you don't mind dirt and cigarette smells everywhere!
