Hotel Contessa

Overall awesome place, tucked away on the quiet side of the riverwalk, short walking distance to everything. On site restaurant was awesome. The only cons I have are pretty important to me, cleanliness and plumbing. There were several pretty gnarly stains in the carpet and couple of them had thick dried (something) in them. We also found a hoop body piercing in the carpet. The shower drained super slow. Trying to shower off two toddlers quickly turned into a bath and then had to wait 10+mins after before anyone else could get in for a shower. If you were showering, you had 2 minutes before you were above ankle deep water. Also, if you turned the water temp past a certain point it triggered some type of loud sound to come from the mixer. In the morning we had a few crickets in the bathroom as well, don’t know where they came from.

Just a sweet stay, Chris at the front desk was amazing. Room was clean and comfortable. Guest services was responsive. Pool and hot tub were an added bonus at the end of a long day. Great stay even with children. In walking distance to Dave and Busters as well as Lego land. I’d highly recommend.

A quick day trip for the kids summer break, visit to Sea World and the River Walk

Hotel was amazing other than a few noisy kids running wild after midnight.

Staff very friendly, easy to check in no issues love this hotel Great experience with the family everything that we need it was in here. as soon as we arrived from our long drive on the road .we were very tired, thirsty water was at the entrance by elevators they had it ready and cold .the concierge was very friendly and provides excellent service and alicia front desk at check in answer all my questions was very nice and friendly. Valet parking staff Greet us at our arrival. 💯 recommend it to stay here you won’t regret it my kids love it they had so much fun in the pool top of the roof.they love the food at the ambler restaurant that it’s on the 1st floor lobby . Remember mariachi on Friday at 6:30 -9:30 pm the best time to relax and have some drinks highly recommended it . The people that run the place aré without doubt running the place down👍 Great job.

It was good and bad. The good the location. The entertainment with the music . The valet service and housekeeping response was really good. The bad when I checked in the front desk she didnt greet me she was too busy eating at her desk. Also the complimentary water and cups were out. Would have been nice to have water since it was so hot. When my daughter and I came back hours later still the same. No water or cups. So very frustrating and when I went to the front desk only one person working and taking too long to help me since he was just talking about his personal life to another guest and instead of seeing the wait at the front desk. Didn’t seem like he had a high sense of urgency and I could tell couldn’t read the room. Also would have been nice to have queen beds instead of double beds for a family of four. Luckily the sofa area was big. For a nice hotel I just thought the staff would be better and more on top of it. Love to location but doubt I would stay there again

Convenient place to stay with my family!

Not luxurious. Nice that it’s on the river walk and live music was nice. Right across a dance club so it was very loud till dawn. AC did not work for the majority of our stay. Executive suite for family had very small beds. Calls to front desk took a long time to answer. Hotel is older and room had a strong smell to it.

Ambler restaurant food was excellent, but pricey. Rooms were nice, but 2 full beds are not for adults. Elevators were safe due to needing a room key to access, but painfully slow wait to get into one. Toilet was practically a kids sized shoved into a corner. 4 Towels for 4 people TV would not work properly - not responsive to functions and needed to be reset often. Only 1 front desk staff to check in and check out guests Pool area (1 ridiculously small) - we could not use at it was always crowded. Summary: extremely overpriced for the amenities available and most could not even use during the stay
