The Historic Gatlinburg Inn

This property IS SUPER DATED- honestly could be original 1938 carpets. So gross and dirty. All rooms have very dark wood panel, old school asbestos style ceiling tile painted over, some rooms have other rooms looking onto private balconies (creepy). Location was good - pool had smokers outside so didnt even want kids to get in pool. Breakfast had nice country food selection, but overall this property needs a new owner to rennovate and update- stuck in time wrap. Shame, since such a great location.

What a wonderful trip to the heart of gaitlinburg. This hotel is so special. It is nostalgic, staff are attentive and love their jobs, happy and smiling and eager to please. This is romantic, family friendly and within walking distance to everything gaitlinburg. We played chess in the family room, played piano in the living room, sat by the pool, on the front porch and on our balcony. We heard lots of laughter and fellowship, music and people watched. Breakfast is great and included. Parking was tight but not a problem to find a space. I will definitely stay again!

Location was good but rooms were very small for a family of 4. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was a bit basic with little selection.

My husband and I wanted to stay in Downtown Gatlinburg for the weekend. We have stayed at this property before. We like the location and its history. However, it's an old hotel and you can hear every sound that other guests make. We left on Fridday at midnight due to the family upstairs whose child was running around their room. We tried to work with the front desk to remedy this situation to no avail. After almost an hour of putting up with the noise and being kept up, we left. Thankfully one of our own properties up in Chalet Village was open and we spent the balance of our weekend there. If you are looking for a peaceful and restful place to stay this is not for you. This was the last night we will ever stay at the Historic Gatlinburg Inn.

Great older hotel right in the middle of the strip. The included breakfast was fantastic with variety and fills a family up before the day! Will return.

Breakfast and that staff was fantastic! However the front desk staff was useless. Had a child run back and forth above us for 4 mornings and they wouldn’t do anything about it. Absolutely miserable to be woke up at 5am everyday.
