Wild Dunes Resort – Sweetgrass Inn and Boardwalk Inn

It was everything my family was looking for. Beautiful location, beautiful complex, beautiful beach. It is not cheap, but it is worth it.

Beautiful place friendly people a little outdated for our family but that’s a small comfort price to pay we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. The facility was beautiful, clean, and modern. The staff was very friendly at all times. Also, the pool bar/restaurant was outstanding!!! So, now for some unfavorable items: We went for a long walk on the beach in the evening (around 10 or so). Upon returning back, we were locked out and had to climb a fence to get back in. That was upsetting. People should be allowed to come and go as they please. The restaurant prices are OUTRAGEOUS! Just be forewarned that you might end up paying around $400 for drinks and dinner. Other than the pool bar/restaurant, the food is ultra gourmet and not really what we were hoping for. The resort itself is a bit confusing to walk around for a first time visitor such as ourselves. It's definitely made for the golf/tennis country club type communities. Way too many kids! We got a room at the Boardwalk Inn because it had an adult-only swimming pool which by the way is super shallow (only about 4/5 ft. deep). But there were still a lot of kids around the hotel and overall area. Finally, the Isle of Palms is a beautiful place but it's hard to even find a souvenir shop, regular restaurant, etc. Overall, we had a wonderful time but I just wanted to write these items of concern to let others know before they book their stay.

Love the hotel and location. Service is terrible and understaffed. Would not answer guest services phone line. Need more food options for kids.

We had a wonderful getaway just the girls. The room was perfect, and service was excellent. When we checked in we had requested a rollaway bed and by the time we got our luggage situated and made it to the room the bed was already waiting for us. The pools were nicely maintained! The boardwalk leading to the beach lined with quaint shops was really something to behold. I really enjoyed my stay and plan to visit again soon with all of my family!

Hreat place for a relaxing family vacation

Great stay! The pool areas (adult only at the Boardwalk, and the massive kid-friendly one at Sweetgrass Inn) were in excellent condition and well staffed. The pool area food and beverage restaurant was top notch, and made an incredible jalapeno margarita. The room was clean and well appointed. The new Fitness Center in the Sweetgrass Inn has potential, but the brand new rowing machine did not have a power supply...thus unable to turn on the timer/mode console...and the pedal stirrups that clip in to support the heels were not installed. This was pointed out to Guest Services, who informed me that they were putting in an Engineering ticket, but that the organization that runs the Spa was in charge of maintaining the Fitness Center, and they weren't in until 9:00am. Nothing had been done to resolve this issue when I arrived to workout the next day. Literally a 60 second fix for both issues.....find the power supply and plug it in, and clip the heel supports to the pedals. Disappointing during an otherwise excellent stay.

The resort is perfect, from the pool, rooms, service, etc. I would not change a thing. My family had an amazing time.

Great resort for families. Enough to do for both, adults and kids.

The Resort is perfectly located in IOP with close proximity to all you would want to do. However, if you didn’t want to leave the property you would never have to as it offers everything you and your family would like, from restaurants to entertainment! Plenty of activities for the kids and the entire family. The food and service were impeccable! We never had one bad meal (we were there for 4 nights). We will absolutely be making this trip as part of our yearly visits moving forward! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
