I stayed with the family. It was an "ok" experience. The place was very clean, modern, and the service was friendly. The details that would have made our stay excellent or outstanding, however, weren't there. The breakfast was lackluster with what seemed to be powdered eggs, undercooked grits, and the, unsurprisingly, mediocre coffee. Our keys stopped working after the first day due to some error on check-in. The room's air conditioning worked intermittently. No housekeeping even though we were told we would receive it. The two treadmills in the small fitness room were inoperable.
Overall, it was an acceptable experience but could have been better with some more attention to detail.

The pool facility was unsafe and young teens weren't chaperone. We had to leave our room to ask kids to be quiet in the halls. Following morning there was trash in hallways and elevators and trash cans overflowing. No adult supervision

Very friendly staff and kids loved getting extra towels delivered by the butler bot.
So glad the pool was indoors with the bad weather and cold snap.Nice selection for breakfast too

The hotel in general appears to be very clean and kept up well. Another guests child dropped cookies from the sidewalk all the way to their room and when I can back, it was all gone. I assume it was the hotels super quiet robot attendant, R2DT that we saw using the elevator .

The property sits in a promenade, surrounded by restaurants, two ice cream stores, multiple clothing stores, a candy store, a movie theater, a bookstore and so forth. It's very convenient and the room we stayed in was super spacious. The only downside was that the indoor pool was closed on a Saturday, and the hotel staff didn't do much to accommodate us. My kids were very disappointed. Also, there's no shuttle option to the airport or downtown Charleston.

Location was great being walking distance to shops, restaurants and the movies. Indoor pool was used by the kids daily which was helpful on rainy days. Breakfast buffet had great choices daily and made our mornings go so much smoother. I won’t stay anywhere that doesn’t have a free breakfast buffet now! My only complaint was hearing the trash truck empty the dumpsters outside our hotel room daily around 3-4 am. I’m a light sleeper so it made it difficult for me to fall back asleep. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the showers were spacious! Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, it was fine. But. Don’t get a top floor room if you want a good view. Pictures online, were not the same. Lol All we could see was dumpsters & hvac units next door. Our bed sheets were covered in stains. We stayed 3 nights & our room was never cleaned. If I could’ve found a broom. I wouldn’t swept the floor myself. First night the worker at the counter was great. Next night, the guy was rude & acted so annoyed that I asked for extra towels. He wanted me to trade in our towels for new ones. But we used them at the pool. Put them in the pool hamper. Indoor pool was freezing btw. Baseboards in our room were coming off of the wall. & only half of the parking garage had working lights. Someone traveling with a baby. Not fun. So overall it wasn’t the worst I guess. But definitely not worth $1,100 for 3 nights. So I was very disappointed & aggravated. Would not go back.

Great annual visit to see Christmas lights at James Island. First time we have tried Hyatt Place. This location is fantastic especially if you have a teenager and younger kid. Teenager can walk around and shop at surrounding stores. Little kids will enjoy indoor pool and just hanging in the room with mom and dad.

We had 2 adults, 2 kids and a puppy. The hotel was very nice. I love the free parking, and the location within the outdoor shopping mall. The kids loved walking to the movies next door. The free daily breakfast buffet was great as well! The room was large enough to sleep 6.
My only hotel complaint was room service. We stayed 4 nights and never had our rooms cleaned. We were told they come every 3 nights. We had to request towels and supplies but our floors were so sandy and trash overflowing..
The beach is a quick 10 min drive away. We rented chairs and umbrellas from a company named Chunkys and they were ready for us. Parking was available at the beach as were restaurants and a bathhouse.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely be coming back.
