Founder's Brook Motel and Suites

A clean and well kept family-run motel with a kind and helpful staff located away from the hustle and bustle but so close to all kinds of great hiking, beaches and destinations. Loved it! Will stay again if I get the chance!

Stayed here a few days when visiting family. Great location, great staff and service. Only gave cleanliness a 4 star because we did have a couple ant friends also stay with us on our trip, but besides that the place is excellent. Reasonable prices too. Would stay again.

We have stayed at Founder's Brook a few times while visiting family in town. It is very clean, the bedroom is a separate room, very convenient fso I don't disturb my husband if I stay up late or wake up early. They have snacks in the front office. Our go to hotel on the island.

Rooms are clean. The bedroom is small and need to be careful walking due to the bedframe and small space. My kids and I all ended up with bruises and cuts on our legs from hitting the bed frame. Ac unit is extremely noisy. Overall a decent place to stay.

charming place just minutes from family we were visiting. Room was very clean and quiet, good mattress. Nice staying somewhere you can open windows for fresh air…AC worked really well, but we don’t like to sleep with it running. A coffee maker of some sort in the room would have been a perk, but the lobby has one. If we are back in the area, we will stay here again.

Rooms are spartan, generally clean. So handy to get to Roger Williams University. Bathroom door was not updated & old hinges cause door to scrape along floor. Television wires are dangling from wall-mount tv - would be hazard w/younger kids. Prior to posted 11am checkout time I called front desk & requested late checkout at 12. At 11:50, another person with the hotel (this seems to be family-run) rapped on the door, demanded to know why we hadn’t checked out. I explained the situation to the hostile older gentleman & he grumbled, said he’d call to confirm. We were in fact out at noon, as arranged. But the inhospitable treatment was noted by this service industry veteran.

My family and I stayed here during the Newport Jazz Festival. Easy access to Newport (15 minutes) without having to go over the bridge. Location was close to the highway exit, but quiet; surroundings were very pleasant; and the staff was professional and attentive.
