The East Island Reserve Hotel

This place is a great place to stay for a couple or maybe couple and 1 kid. Very clean and updated kitchen, bathroom, bed and furniture. Even the kitchen was well equipped with the necessary utensils. I would highly recommend this place and best of all it was close to the cliff walk - just 3 mins away. the lockpad was a little tricky to open

My family stayed here fof a few days while visiting Newport and were very happy with the location, the cleanliness and the amenities in our cottage. Just a lovely place. We hope to return

The manager was a nightmare. She was rude, abrasive and combative. This is a dog friendly hotel. So I assumed that dogs were allowed in the outdoor pool area. When I walked into the pool area with my dog she screamed at me telling me dogs were not allowed in this area and it was my fault that I didn't read the pool rules before entering the pool. She pointed to her watch and told me that if I didn't leave in two minutes she would call the police and throw me out of the hotel. Other guests were there to witness this tantrum. Both I and them were embarrassed to say the least. We talked to other guests who had dogs and they said that they brought their dogs to the pool area without a problem. Apparently they were lucky she didn't see them. Turns out one of the "rules" is that your dog must have a certification. Many of these dogs didn't. My family and I have traveled extensively and NEVER have we run across anyone as rude as her. We would have left and found another place to stay but we were committed to our daughter's baby shower. By the way, she didn't spare her wrath on my seven month pregnant daughter either, yelling at her too! Until this hotel replaces this horrible women DO NOT STAY HERE!

Because the “hotel” is a group of separate buildings it’s great for families. Individual rooms come with small kitchenette. Great setup. Because of the nature of the setup they don’t have a traditional desk. Great for checking in out. Overnight issues have to be handled by leaving message.
