Sonesta Select Newport Middletown

The room was large and spacious. It was a great fit for a family of 5.

We stayed for a wedding with our newborn and dog. We got home and my husband and our dog had worms crawling on them. The room was dirty. The layout was amazing and outdoor area was beautiful.

Well, I must say it was kids friendly, but noisy. You could hear noise from above and side ....kids crying most of the night.

We needed to stay with a bunch of children chose hotel for the pool no where on the Expedia or the hotel page didn’t say the pool was under construction. We are still waiting on our refund after not staying there and choosing new accommodations

Upon arrival when we ask about the pool, was told it was closed. signs on desk only mention the outdoor pool being closed and the noise that may cause. Was told it was too bad bc we already pre-paid. I did my own research and hotel viking has pool passes for $20 a day and so we went and used their pool since we had kids with us. Staff was unfriendly about this situation and did not offer any suggestion. the FIRST photo of this hotel is of a pool that does not exist

Good stay and provided what we needed for our family of 5.

Had a hard time finding somewhere to stay for one night while visiting Newport. Finally found a room here at a reasonable rate. Upon arriving found the the hotel was full of kids who arrived in tour busses. They were loud all night. We could not sleep. The walls were so thin it sounded like they were in our room with us. They swarmed the common areas, pool, fitness center, etc. making it impossible to use any of those facilities. There was a light shining directly in our room from the parking lot which was super annoying. Sorry but I can't recommend this hotel.

From approaching the front desk to leaving after looking at my rooms, this was the worse hotel experience I’ve ever had. The ladies at the front desk was absolutely the rudest ladies, not just to me but guest coming up and asking questions. They couldn’t be bothered by anyone, combative and sarcastic was their language. I tried to put check in behind me, as I booked 2 rooms to meet my daughter and spend the weekend with my grandchildren. Just to difficult they put us on either side of the hotel, stating they were at capacity. I booked both rooms 3 weeks ago and there might of been 10 car in the parking lot. After entering the room I knew right away I was not staying in this filthy room. Immediately the smell hit me right in the face. With further inspection, bathroom was run down and dirty. I left immediately, before my family even arrived. DO NOT STAY HERE! The price compared to surrounding hotel was a joke after arriving and discovered the condition of this property. I’m not sure how this hotel received an 8.5 very good rate? I looked around on other sights, I wish I did before I booked, they’re rated 2.5 and list everything I discovered. Hotels.com need to do a better job at hotel recommendations. I am very thankful I was refunded for all.

Stay was generally ok. However, the air conditioner in the room made such loud noises it was disruptive to my sleep. Also, pillows provided in the room was the worse pillows I’ve ever uses! No kidding. Absolutely no support whatsoever. Please upgrade ACs and pillows and i would absolutely return.

The pool the kids loved. The room and property was very clean. Only issue was the hotel WIFi had issues with connectivity. The staff said they were aware but didn't work the two nights we were there. Other than that it was a nice stay.
