Courtyard by Marriott Bloomington by Mall of America

No amenities, even coffee in lobby. No microwave in room. Salt water in pool, very dangerous and slippery for all ages! Staff was kind and accommodating but one lady. Charged to park in there parking lot, daily and deposit was kept without disclosure when booking this stay. Pretty pricey for nothing offered to guests. Even asked for two additional blankets and they didn't have any? Might want to consider elsewhere with children.

Nice quiet hotel. Didn’t hear a single noise from our room. Clean room beyond many black hairs on the bed comforter. Only two complaints: 1) Pool was not heated. It was so cold my family couldn’t put more than their feet in. In fact none of the families there were able to get in and swim. We specifically chose this hotel because of the heated pool, so that was a real disappointment. The front desk clerk wasn’t at all surprised when we told him and said he hears that complaint often. 2) after, including a request for a pack, and play in our reservation and requesting one at check-in, we still have not received one delivered to our room an hour later. We called the front desk to inquire, and we were told one would be sent up. Another hour passed and we still had not received it so we had to call down again only to find out the front desk clerk never put the request in. Needless to say, it was long passed our son’s bedtime before we finally received it.

We were so close to the Mall of America, and the Outback Steakhouse. Travel usually comes with so much stress; having so many aspects easily addressed allow for a greater sense of enjoyment overall. Great weekend, great location; thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, and taking in the sites and experience. Bloomington, Minnesota did not disappoint, and will be visited again! My husband and I visit family 3 to 4 times a year in cities. We like to stay at different hotels. For the most part our three night stay was good but, had some concerns. We are both early 60's and very mobile. The toilet in our room was so low had difficulty getting off. I am 5'3" and the top of the seat came below my knee. I would think with our ahing society every hotel would invest in higher rise toilets. Each morning we showered the water was at best luke warm. Our room's coffee pot had no coffee cups or pods. Got from front desk. Rooms were clean and very quiet. Hotel carpeting was starting to show some wear. Ok stay but a little disappointing for a Courtyard by Marriott.

Service was great but this is a very tired and out dated hotel. I had high expectations staying at a Marriott property, a you get what you pay for type of deal. But from trying to find parking (which you won’t if you arrive after 10 PM) to the doors being locked upon arrival and no one answering your buzz to get in, kids running the halls unattended at 1 am or even 630 am down in the lobby, the room was clean “ok” not to what I had expected. While the sheets were clean the mattress protector and mattress it’s self held who knows how many years of hair. I can’t say I’d pay to stay here again- same quality as a Super 8.
