Bartender Wesley was fantastic. His kindness and friendliness made us feel like were are friends and family. We felt very at home at the City Flats Hotel. The bed was very cozy. We would happily stay again.

I would give this place a 3/10 I total. Location: 10/10. Perfect location for any concert/event or restaurant. Price: 5/10. I mean you get what you pay for but $250 a night for a king bed. They also fail to mention the additional $30 fee (that is refunded a week later) but I think that’s important to disclose. Misc: 2/10. We called on our way and asked where to park, we were told the street is free during a certain time or you can park around the corner in a parking ramp. When we called, we were told $24 a night to park at the ramp. Ok fine. We go to check out the next day and leave the ramp and the hotel staff failed to inform us it was $2 every half hour after like 2 am. So we arrived at 4pm and left by 10am and paid an additional $44 to park in total, on top of our $280 one night stay. We called the parking ramp bc there had to be a mistake. Nope. The ramp staff was very apologetic and informed us it happens DAILY, even though the hotel has been asked to stop, where they tell people $24 for parking. So overall I’m sure you could find something significantly cheaper just a little further out of town that is just as nice. Definitely wasn’t worth almost $350 a night in Grand Rapids. Also keep in mind, the bar closes at 9. We also were not informed that. We had a kid free anniversary night and when our concert ended (10) we wanted to have some drinks and decided to go back to the hotel to find the bar closed.

Location is good but no hotel parking not easy to park. 2 full size bed not queen so be aware with it. If you have 2 kids. Service is bad if you need something at night just forget about it not a convenient hotel at all.

The location is awesome. The room was beautiful and spacious. Beds were fairly comfortable, on the soft side. Everything was eco-concious which is nice. However... when my son tried to take a shower and was trying to figure out how to adjust the water temp, it ended up making a horrible loud noise. My husband figured out that he had turned it towards cold and that's what caused it. So we figured out how to stop it, but for about 5 minutes it was just awful and not a good start to our stay. The bigger problem was that there was no real way to adjust the temperature of the room. There was a thermostat. I turned it down to 68. But the temp of the room stayed at 74 degrees all night. That is too hot to sleep! My whole family slept horrible because of that. Unless this is addressed, I'm afraid we will look elsewhere for a hotel room next time we are in the area.
