Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sturbridge, an IHG Hotel

Good to staywith the family. Quite and clean

We had a nice overnight and the kids loved the pool.

Hotel is overall nice and clean. However, I wish the pool was open. We stayed here with our kid and would’ve been nice to be able to use the pool as a family. I heard that it hasn’t been opened for a while, based on other people’s review. The internet wasn’t really working the night we stayed there. It’ wasn’t a big deal because I had phone internet but for people who are staying there for business, it might be an issue for them. There’s free breakfast. Nothing out of this world, but it’s surely was nice to have.

The rooms are fine, staff kind and helpful, and good breakfast. Unfortunately, we had booked two nights planning to let our kids use the pool during the day and it turned out the pool was ice cold, so not really usable. When I asked about it I was told the heater hadn’t come in yet. We thought ok, maybe they can at least use the rinsing shower to warm up, but the water was not turned on to that. Clearly this space is not actually ready for use yet though it is listed as such. They did offer to refund our second night if we wanted to change hotels (there was another in the area with a heated pool), however we had already moved on to other plans at that point.

One can understand a pool not operational. One can understand an elevator not working for three days. Although they could have offered assistance getting luggage down three flights of stairs!!! However I feel nickel and dimed to death when asked to pay $14.00 to do one load of laundry!!!!! Who are you kidding. I’ve been on four continents, NY City and other major cities and never paid more tha. $6 If you need change that badly increase you room rate by $.10

I can’t rate the facility as a whole because I never got the pleasure to see what it was about.Upon arrival I found out the pool was out of service and has been since the beginning of Covid.Luckily one of the ladies stated that I could be reimbursed in full if I decided to cancel the reservation before accepting the agreement.I decided to go elsewhere and made the kiddos happy by finding another hotel with a pool at the last minute.

Good place to stop for the night passing through with my family. Easy and clean! Good breakfast.

The bed was so comfortable! I slept like a baby. The staff was very courteous and welcoming. The hotel is at a perfect location. I will definitely come back again.

High price, pool was out of order. We stayed here with 3 grandkids despite the high price because of the pool. Price should be adjusted

Great except for breakfast. Hotel was clean and quiet. Breakfast however left much to be desired. People were not allowed to serve themselves and the staff member who was serving appeared to be in way over her head. They were constantly out of everything that had to be cooked. She never had any idea if more was being made or how long it would be. When I asked for yogurt she had no idea what kids they had but kept asking what flavor I wanted but it was hard to guess what the choices might be. They were constantly out of both cold and hot water. When I let her know she brought out a very small pitcher and asked which one needed to refilled. I told her both were empty. She said that she would fill the hot water one because the cold one had ice that would melt…. Yes, it will eventually melt but those of us waiting for a drink really didn’t want to wait for the ice to melt…. It was a lousy end to an otherwise good stay.
