The outside of the hotel gives off retro vibes but the rooms are more modern! Room was exceptionally clean and spacious. They do have pack n plays available if you have any children with you. They have a messaging system where you can just send a text if you need any service to your room and they don’t go in your room unless you tell them too! Staff was super friendly as well! It was maybe a ten minute walk to all of the shops in Savannah and it is located right across from the bus station. They also have super cute key chains for sale similar to the old hotel keys! Love love this hotel and will be staying here again!

Not happy, dbl charged, 15$ a night to park in the hotel parking lot! Had a King bed, another family member decided to come, changed room to dbl bed. That is considered an upgrade, extra 20$ a night. Was told the overcharge would be removed upon check out, didn’t happen. Oh,btw, we checked out a day early

We had a wonderful experience here. I would recommend it to any family or couple visiting Savannah. We were in walking distance of everything and the hotel itself was extremely clean, updated, and a wonderful staff.

We will be back! When they say dog friendly, they mean dog friendly! It’s a very nice hotel and ideal if you want to be close to the action but tucked away enough so it’s not super loud. This has been my best motel experience by far and I can’t wait to come back and explore Savannah with my family and pup again.

I loved the Moon Pies and RC Cola! Those took me back to my childhood. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We also loved the fancy doughnuts.

We married on Tybee Island in early October and knew we'd want to have Savannah as our base, since we'd be rolling our wedding into a long-weekend stay. The Thunderbird Inn was immediately eye-catching & met our budget. It's location is a bit of a two-edge sword: it's fantastic because it's the first major intersection off of the bridge, so you literally cannot miss it, but it's also right off a busy street. If you're traveling with small children and/or pets, I'd just recommend some extra supervision & if your pets are outside of the designated gated area (which was nice!) be sure that they're leashed. However, it's close to one of the trolley/visitor centers & Savannah is overall, an incredibly walkable city; you can easily walk to the main downtown area from the Thunderbird Inn. They have amazing donuts from a local bakery every morning, popcorn most of the day if you're in the mood for a snack & their commitment to the retro cool factor is undeniable-the Moon Pies & RC soda were an unexpected delight after our trip. The only other issue could be parking. You do get a pass, but if you're coming back later most of the main spots could be taken, so it's a little bit of a balancing act. I do want to end on a standout note: we eloped & weren't sure how much of the traditional stuff we'd do-we were going to skip the cake, but after telling the front desk why we were staying there, in a beautiful gesture they surprised us with the perfect-sized cake, creating an instant memory!

I normally don’t stay at places like this But I’m SO GLAD I found this place. This place was awesome. The staff was so friendly and it was so clean, comfy beds. They is RC cola and moon pies on the bedside which was pretty cool. I haven’t had those since I was a kid. They have fresh popcorn and lemonade available and Breakfast was fresh doughnuts and coffee. If i travel that again I will definitely be staying there.

We stayed here during Saint Patrick’s day weekend and loved it! All of the staff were over the top friendly and helpful- thank you to Sean, Jackie, Jim and Leslie. They let us check in an hour early, check out an hour late and also held onto our luggage for us after checkout since our flight wasn’t for six more hours and that was greatly appreciated! I did bring a white noise machine and slept like a baby, I greatly recommend you bringing one if you own one as there is some noise which wasn’t terrible but I’m a light sleeper. Loved the hair dryer they had and the included luggage stand and shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone! The customer service is superb.

Very clean and wonderfully designed room. I love the attention to detail,I immediately fell right at home, shame it was only for one night. The South African girl at the front desk was especially kind, considerate and extreamly polite and attentive. I would definitely suggest this place to all our friends and family.
