The AC stopped working sometime after 11pm. It was too late to complain about it. The AC was not cooling when we arrived/checked in (around 3pm). At the time, the supervisor was across my room and said that she would maintenance look at it. We immediately left the room to discover savannah. When we returned in the evening, the AC was cooling and working fine and it decided to break down again while we were sleeping. I had to cool my children with wet towels wrapped with ice. I have been waiting for 2 days for the hotel manager to respond to my email and phone call but I haven't heard from them. It was not worth the $300 stay.

The inside of the hotel was awesome with an elegant library/reading area, a small bar and an area within eyeshot for the kids and warm chocolate chip cookies (with walnuts) and best of all a delightful front desk clerk, Agasia, who went above and beyond for us and everyone I saw her deal with. She is a true asset to this hotel!

My family and I stayed here for a quick getaway trip from Atlanta. The hotel is located in a really great spot about 1 block from the River Street. Hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was okay, just a normal continental. The valet parking is ridiculously high though $45/per night. The front desk was kind but the parking was just outrageous you dint even pay that in Midtown Atlanta.

When I book a DoubleTree, I expect a little better service than a regular hotel. Unfortunately, like a lot of low end hotels this place no longer offers housekeeping (under the guise of Covid safety, except none of their staff are wearing masks). When I did request new towels in day 3, they didn't come for over an hour. At that point I had given up waiting and gotten in the shower, and the staff came in my room anyway while I was in there. True I should have used the security lock, but it felt very uncomfortable with someone coming in while I was in the bathroom. The front desk staff were not very polite or helpful either. Finally, it seems like whenever you book with Hotels.com, they put you in a handicapped accessible room. This is annoying because there's no tub, and it's right next to elevators. In our case it was also next to the pool so not only did we have to keep our blinds closed at all times, we also had to listen to children screaming. I understand that people use travel sites to get discounted rates, but this was by no means a cheap hotel, and I don't know why hotels treat guests who book through travel sites like we're not deserving of a regular room.

After mulling over whether or not to spend the extra $$, we ultimately decided on Doubletree and are happy that we did. It was so clean and the front desk staff were nice. Some people don’t like the $40+ per night valet fee, but there’s literally nowhere to park- so just remember they’re keeping your car safe. The pool and hot tub were decent- not super huge but decent. My kid was happy, hubby was happy, I’M HAPPY. A+
