JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District

This is the most beautiful and unique hotel the lobby area is more like a museum. The staff at the front desk amazing and friendly. My husband and were there celebrating our 42 year wedding anniversary and his birthday and we had the most wonderful time. They put us in the Three Muses building and we had complete view of the river with a balcony what a treat. We will definitely stay here again and have recommended to our family and friends

while the hotel is beautiful, my family and I couldn’t get past the smell of barbecue, smoked meat coming through the air vents the entire evening. We were so tired from our trip that we just fell asleep, but the smell was there when we woke up and when we went to bed. The hotel staff was very nice about it and they refunded our resort fee, however, I don’t feel that the price of the rooms warrants what was provided.

Started out great! We found the front desk staff to be so welcoming and friendly! The hotel was beautiful and the lobby smelled absolutely amazing! We asked about the scent and the desk clerk gave me a brochure so that I could order a candle or other merchandise in the hotels custom scent. I had booked two rooms but only one was ready upon our arrival, which was fine. I was told that the second room had been cleaned but still had to be inspected before we could get the key. We finally got our room later in the afternoon. It was beautiful and a very spacious corner room. To our dismay, we found a St. Patrick’s Day headgear on the floor in our room apparently left by the previous guest, visiting last weekend for St. Patty’s Day festivities. This discovery left us scratching our heads since we waited a few hours for our room to be “inspected” before we could get in?!! Our second disappointment came when we were kept awake until 2:30 AM due to the extreme noise level from the local bars and the rooftop bar. No joke, it sounded like they were in our room. Also, we told the desk clerk that we wanted seafood for dinner and wanted a sit down restaurant. She recommended District Seafood which is one of their restaurants. After getting dressed and meeting family there, we were disappointed to learn that this is an outdoor bar restaurant. You literally sit around the bar or you eat at a table outside. We will unlikely return nor recommend this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. We enjoyed our visit quite a bit; however, we didn’t eat at the restaurants as much as we planned due to limited vegetarian and healthier options. Transportation to and from the hotel was also harder than anticipated- the property is lower than the rest of the historic district, so we had to go up and down very steep steps every time we left the hotel. Not a huge issue but probably not the best for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, a great place to stay for a large party (we were there with family) but I would probably consider something more in the main historic district if I return.

Very frustrated about our stay. The rooftop bar plays VERY loud music until 1:00 am. So loud that I couldn’t hear the tv, let alone sleep. Front desk did not answer the phone the first two times we called and finally offered a room change at midnight on our final night. The hotel is lovely, but why sell a room for over $500 a night when you feel like you are in a club until 1am?! I’m pretty sad about it and will stay other places as my children go through the next 4 years at scad. Lost a customer, sadly.

The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. We were greeted by John with Persecco filled flutes when we checked in at the Plant Riverside bldg. We met Mackenzie, who upgraded our room, just because! We met Thomas & Tristan & Kira! Our favorite, Paulina, who was simply wonderful to us. Unexpectedly, she gifted us with treats in our room. We felt like family and really fell in love with this amazing and unique property. We will tell our friends and family to visit the JW Marriott Plant Riverside. We will return as well. This property is beautiful. The staff were so helpful and kind. There was plenty of restaurants and shopping with in walking distance. My family and I will be staying here again very soon.

Unfortunately our room became overrun with biting ants-- we woke with hundreds in our bed Thankfully our infant daughter was in a crib in another room so she was ok But I was bitten several times and have had a horrible reaction I will be contacting Marriott as well -- ruined our trip and I still have nightmares about sleeping with these bugs! Can't believe this is a 5 star hotel-- The staff was equally shocked l-- we were on the 3rd floor so their explanation that maybe the rain brought them in -seemed unlikely-- we left immediately !!!!

💙 We. Loved. This. Hotel. 💙 We travel a lot…..and have stayed all over the USA….this property has moved to the top of our favorites that we don’t forget and want to return to! Since being back home, our family and friends all know about this hotel (😃😁)…and many have now added Savannah/JW Marriot Plant Riverside to their travel list. We loved the maritime design/decor of the entire building, the comfortable beds, the riverside view, pool and pool deck overlooking the Savannah River from the Atlantic Building, building 1….the steamer (bought 2 online as soon as we checked out 😂), anddd the bath products…cannot forget those. I NEVER use hotel bath products because I’m too picky and love my own but for some reason I decided we should try theirs and we were not disappointed. The entire hotel and Plant Riverside District was a delight. We ate wonderful food, bought some fun products, made a flower bouquet from a fresh flower bar, listened to fun music, relaxed AND the best part: got to peruse and see their large collection of precious gems, metals, fossils, art, etc. 💙💙 We can hardly wait to return to Savannah just so we can enjoy staying here again! Thank you for this line of hotels….going to look into the others now (& let family that live not too far from Charleston in on all of my findings…they’ve got to stay with you sometime too!). 😊

The room looked very beautiful. However, my family and I couldn’t sleep due to the dusty room. My daughter’s eyes we’re almost sealed shut from all the dust. It was in the carpet and drapes.
