Holiday Inn Gatineau Ottawa, an IHG Hotel

If you want to go to Casino Lac Lemy, you can’t beat this location for the price. Front staff weren’t overly friendly and gave me the wrong room, but it was corrected. We did not like the cheap laminate flooring and lack of a bathtub. Would be tricky for couples with children. The dining room food is completely mediocre but for high prices. French fries were very clearly frozen ones that were baked. The only redeeming part was the lovely waitress, Caroline. What a huge asset she is to the place.

The staff was friendly upon check-in and check-out. There wasn't much around the hotel except for the Casino across the street. Therefore need to drive everywhere, which is ok because there was enough parking spots to go in/out. Although no convenience stores around but if get hungry at night and don't want to drive, the hotel has a 24hrs snack bar in the lobby. The room was clean and spacious. For me, the pillows were too soft but manageable because more importantly beddings were clean. The disappointments were housekeeping forgotten or didn't refill the coffee supply after first day. And for the kids, the pool temperature was too cold for them to swim, so only used pool once in the two nights we stayed.

Recommended for family and business trips as it is very closed to highway access. Easy and free parking. Restaurant tasted very good and price friendly.

Excellent location for family visiting the area

I booked a room at this hotel for my significant other, 6 month old and myself for a work convention. Myself and baby fell ill so my s/o had to go alone. Upon check-out, they refused to return the security deposit because the room "smelt of marijuana". That deposit is more than the per night rate. When he tried to argue mentioning I am a travel agent and we know better than to do that, they shut him down and continued to refuse anything further. Very disappointing.

Everything is good. Except for pool temperature was cold to stay in. Breakfast was limited... even no milk for children..

We had a great stay! Our original room had an AC issue and it was quickly rectified - they moved us to a new room. Rooms are bright and spacious. We booked a one bedroom suite (King bed w sofa bed). It was perfect for our family of four. Hotel was very clean! Staff were very friendly. As it is a relatively new hotel, breakfast was more a small snack bar (fruit choices, granola bars, yogurt, coffee/tea). We were able to ask for some milk for cereal that we brought with us. Overall, highly recommend and we would definitely stay again!

Paper thin walls, rude staff, elevators barely work, chaos in hallways (children screaming) in the evening and early in the morning. Room Keys stopped working halfway through our stay, had to go get new ones and walk up/down 5 flights of stairs and when we got to the front desk they said no words, no apologies. Just gave us a new key.. had to climb 5 flights of stairs again to find 7 boys sitting in the hallway talking loudly. Would not recommend at all.
