Auberge de la Gare

As a family with food allergies we’re not going back. Staff were quite unhelpful over breakfast when we asked about the food ingredients. We weren’t asking for an accommodation, just information because of our child’s food allergies.

A very quaint and lovely hotel. The vending machine was broken and the "sofa" in our room was so small my husband couldn't use it. The sofa is really for a child. We also had to ask for bed sheets and a blanket that wasn't provided in the room. The room was otherwise lovely and we enjoyed using the jacuzzi. Great parking, friendly check-in and customer service. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choices (hot and cold).

I met 4 members of staff at Hotel de la Gare and each one was helpful and friendly! Even the chamber maid was warm and welcoming! What impressed me as well was the lovely breakfast, which was included in the price of the room. It was advertised as a continental breakfast but it was far more than that! . There were fried eggs, sausages and home fries on offer, as well as cereal, croissants, muffins, bagels and more. The croissants were particularly good! The pillows in my room were a delight, as were the linens and the mattress. I slept like a baby, which is something I don't usually do when I am not in my own bed. I was, however, a little disappointed with the absence of milk in our room. It would have been nice to have had a few little containers or milk or cream that could have been kept in the refrigerator in my room. A couple of tea bags would have been nice as well. One other thing that was a little disappointing, is that the reception area needs to be a little more welcoming. When I walked in I was a little taken aback by how unloved it looked. This was quite a contrast with the lovely decor in my room. Love the gray walls! Many thanks to Iba, Raphael, the sweet chamber maid and the lovely woman who looked after the breakfast.

Stayed for a night. It was ideal for me to go with family for mother's day to see Tulip festival in Ottawa.

The room is spacious and comfortable sleep. We are family of 4. Hope next time we will be there they will provide complimentary mineral water, basic toiletries like vanity kit and toothbrush and toothpaste. 🙂 overall the hotel room that we stayed was clean and beds are comfortable. Thanks
