Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Gatineau - Ottawa, an IHG Hotel

Pool closed due to quote" to many unsuprvised children in pool" than changed to "mainteance of pool" ...i have viseo proof that fire escape doors were LOCKED so noone was able to enter or exit ans when asked front desk about it they said it was for safety reasons fo not allow anyone in the building but then changed afterwards to "it must have been the kids who locked it" when i called them out on the fact that it is a serious offence to have these locked... gym also was closed for no particular reason.was denied access to conference room and was told it is not in used but you just cant use it. All in turn to be met by a disgruntled employee named Melina Cote. Tried to speak to a manager which apparantly is cause for the gatineau police being called to escort me and my family our of the premises. I really dont know what is happening in tuis hotel but i will never set foot in this hotel again

There was a large school group staying - the kids were running in hallways all night and calling rooms then hanging up all night. Staff did nothing.

My kids love this place with swimming pool and breakfast.

Everything was perfect, the person on the check in are amazing. Only pbm is, too much noise in the hall we can hear everyone walking, kids playing ect

The rooms are nice. The breakfast could have been better. The scrambled eggs were not pleasant to eat. We were a family of six, no one liked the breakfast. The coffee is good though. The beds - the worst. The beds would make noise if you move even an inch. All four beds had the same issue. Not comfortable for a sound sleep at all.

This is a great, well cared for hotel. I have just one suggestion: remove the couches from the breakfast room so you can add some tables. It’s sometimes hard for families to find a place to sit for breakfast.

Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Excellent free breakfast. Great hotel for kids.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast options for the family. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had fun using the pool.

The hotel was very clean and modern, the pool was clean, a tad small but I liked that it was all the same depth, didn’t have to worry about a deep end for my youngest child. We were pleasantly surprised by the included breakfast, had a lot more variety than expected! Will stay here again!

I went to check in and was greeted by a rude person working at the reception. He asked for my name and booking and continued to keep digging for random information out of me while other customers provided their name and booking and were allowed to check in. He told me i couldn’t check in 30 min before and let others check in. I had been driving for 6 hours and wanted to rest but thats not the concern. I ended up having to wait till 3:20 to check in due to the line up in-front of me that formed while he asked me to wait or pay another $20 for 30 min. I would have paid it but he was so rude I didn’t wanna give them anymore business considering I payed $500 for 2 nights and was greeted poorly. Im a non- french speaking individual, and every other customer that knew french got very good service. He did the same with 2 families that did not know french either. I felt like I was being discriminated against and I hope he gets fired and learns a lesson.
