Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Ottawa

Great family hotel, very clean, facilities in great condition, friendly staff and the location is perfect, you can walk to all the landmarks, monuments and museums.

Hotel room was nice, bathroom much too small. Surrounding area had quite a large population of homeless, strong smell of weed, quite a few drunks… not what you want to remember on a family getaway…also parking is horrible and expensive!

Stayed for two nights with family. Located in the main Byward Market area. Everything was close. Courteous staff who guided us for everything. Clean and big rooms. Will definitely return.

This facility was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the family enjoyed the pool.

Hotel was decent, clean but bathroom floors could use some scrubbing. Location was perfect; it’s surrounded by restaurants. Front desk staff and very friendly and helpful. We used the pool and we loved that there was a separate very shallow kids area. The AC in the room gets loud though woke us up during the night.

My family and i booked this hotel because of the pool. When we arrived we were told its not open. If we had of know this before booking we would have booked a different hotel. Staff were nice and hotel was clean.

Great location and friendly staff. The overnight parking is $30 which is quite reasonable. Free wifi. The restaurant downstairs is also not bad for breakfast. The only complaints are: really noisy at night until 1:30am. We could literally hear the lyrics of the songs that were playing at the club/pub next to the hotel. The a/c was really loud as well. Normally we wouldn’t like that but the a/c noise kinda cover a bit of the club noise I guess. So I think try not to stay close to the restaurants side. Staying on the side facing the hotel parking may be better. The pool was also very good. I love it with the kid pool kinda connected to the big pool. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Two nights we had kids banging on our door after 9pm and running away down the hall I mentioned it the second night to the front desk

First I want to say I was offered to speak with a manager and I didn’t take up the offer. I don’t think it would’ve mattered anyway. It was dirty in our room. The kids found a “bachelorette” wine glass under a chair from a previous guest. It smelled funny. Parking was interesting. It just wasn’t what I thought it would be I guess. It wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed in. The guy at the front desk was kind. I just wouldn’t stay there again. It should be in the $70 a night price range. Not $200.
