Hilton Garden Inn Olympia

We had to wait a half an hour to check in after 3:00. We sat and watched others check in before us. We were comped free breakfast the next morning and it was very good. We left a good tip for the waitress and then checked out only to realize after leaving that we were charged for another tip for the waitress. So she got a 12.00 tip for a 30.00 breakfast. She was good but we had already tipped her well. The last thing we thought was odd was we went to the pool and we were the only ones there. There was a cleaning cart with cleaning supplies on it and a plugged in vacuum near the pool. My husband and I both commented that it was a good thing that there were no children around.

I cannot say enough about the customer service during our stay. We are a Hilton family now. The only negative was how loud the room above you can be if you are on one of the lower floors- but the people above us were inconsiderate and stomping around arguing- only reflection on the hotel is the lack of insulation between the floors- the rest was all those guests. The hotel went above and beyond to make our stay great and the rest of the time we were very happy. The pool was heated well and my kiddo played his heart out. This is our new go to hotel when visiting Olympia.

My wife and kid were not happy with the cleanliness of the pool hot tub area. The areas around the hot tub smelled of pet urine so strong they couldn't fully enjoy their time.

Great place to stay by yourself or with family.

Watch out for being double charged! I've stayed with Hilton for years but was not impressed with this experience. The desk staff person was eating when I checked in...it didn't feel super professional or cleanly. They then asked me to run my credit card. I was confused by this because I was sure I'd already paid through Expedia. She said no, Expedia had only sent the reservation info. Before checking out I reviewed my credit card account and confirmed I had definitely already paid through Expedia and now had a second room charge directly from Hilton pending on my card. I checked with the front desk about this. The manager confirmed that my card had been run to have on file for incidentals and that the pending room charge would drop off and not actually be charged. When I checked my account a day later, the second room charge had come through. I had to call and talk to several people and am still waiting for a refund. What a hassle. The room was clean enough, though pretty loud with a view of the freeway. I had booked a regular double queen room, but received an ADA room. Not a huge deal, by it was inconvenient not having a bathtub for my young children. Pool area was out of towels. Breakfast restaurant staff was very friendly. I had pre-paid for breakfast with my Expedia reservation but I was not on the server's "free breakfast" list so she had to go check with the manager. It got worked out, but again was a hassle. Overall, room for improvement...
