Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Va Beach Oceanfront, an IHG Hotel

Our room overlooked the beach and it was easy to get back and forth from the beach to the hotel. The location was great and the view was beautiful. Breakfast was good. The pool was nice, although MUCH smaller than it appears in the photos, and there weren't enough chairs along the outside. More than 1 family in the pool area made it incredibly crowded. They closed the pool anytime there was a storm, which seemed strange to us for an indoor pool. So if you're counting on the pool during bad weather - don't. Checking in and checking out could have been better; the staff weren't very friendly or eager to share the usual info like parking and breakfast until I specifically asked. Our room was cleaned daily and given fresh towels. The beds were remade nicely every day but our linens weren't changed at all; even though there was a visible mark on the top sheet (made from one of our kids eating on the bed). Parking was fine. Most days we were able to park in the main lot, but they had 2 overflow lots available that weren't far. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would stay here again.

Great family atmosphere

Check in was 4pm. We didn't get a room until 5pm & that was only because after waiting that hour, I went up and asked what was being comped considering we had just driven 12 hours with 3 kids. They finally got us in a room after that. The reason given to us for the delay was for "extra cleaning" however there was hair all over the shower & bathroom. When house keeping came halfway thru the trip, that still was not cleaned up and they left us with no toilet paper. The breakfast buffet was also not great. Didn't matter what time we got there, they were out of most things. But it's free so whatever. The location of the hotel is great, the beds were comfy. That's about all I can say about it.

The tvs are not smart tvs. There was construction happening everyday, very loud. Not dirty but not clean. Just ok. Breakfast not good but free. The cinnamon rolls are great the rest is yucky. The pool was gross but kids don’t mind. Stairways filthy and one cockroach found in our room. That is to be expected in the south but still unnerving.

The property is very clean and staff friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast. The lobby was very nice to be able to gather with family.

My family and I recently stayed here and I don’t have anything negative to say. The room was clean, we had a great view of the ocean, and it was very close to the beach. The daily breakfast was good. I’m not huge on breakfast but my daughter liked the pancake machine. I would stay here again.

Property was family friendly and staff very interactive.

No face towel inside the room only hand towels. I booked for 3 adults and 2 children when we arrived they only have 2 bath towels so I ordered for some extra towels and they gave me pool towels instead. I’ve waited for couple of minutes to check in the receptionist Jarod was inside the office.
