I recently stayed at The San Luis for a week with my family, and we had a mixed experience. Positives: • Kids’ Activities and Pool: My kids absolutely loved the pool and the various hotel activities designed for children. It was a joy to see them so entertained and engaged throughout our stay. • Dining Experience: The restaurants at the hotel were exceptional. We dined at all three during our stay, and each offered a unique and delightful culinary experience. The service was consistently attentive and the food was outstanding. Negatives: • Poolside Service: Unfortunately, the service by the pool was a major letdown. The waitresses in the pool area never approached us to ask if we needed drinks, food, or anything else. This lack of attentiveness significantly impacted our overall experience and left us feeling disappointed. In conclusion, while The San Luis has many great features, especially for families, the poor poolside service marred an otherwise pleasant stay. With improvements in this area, it could be a fantastic vacation spot.

Very nice and high end property. Easy access to the beach and nice pool. Food on property is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Every meal we had on property was excellent. This property is excellent for kids as well. They offer multiple kids activities throughout the day and a fun movie night outside every night.

Hotel need upgrade furnitures , decor etc . Service was excellent . room service came on time when schedule on tablet . Only complain I have is that last night of our stay group of high school kids were loud in swimming pool area after midnight , complain to front desk but party continued . I had to call second time complain and finally got stop . I’m paying high $$$ for room I’m expecting this hotel to have higher standard .

The St Luis is a very pretty hotel and perfect ly located. There were two things we encountered that were negatives for the stay. The first was the "above counter" sink In the bathroom. This type sink is not very functional and certainly seems cheap. The other negative was the noise prevention insulation. We often heard a baby crying and other noises from an adjoining room.

Decided to stay on the Island and booked last minute. The hotel is already a landmark. The best was the staff, super nice and accommodating at all levels as well as the spectacular view (sunrise was a show). Amenities are good but on the boring side if you are young. Especially if they are hosting a wedding there is not even music at the pool area. I got nervous and left the pool area because there was a disabled old guy carelessly riding a scooter around and being rude to people, his body was covered in sores and it was not a good sight at the pool area. There is no club or place to have fun inside of the facilities or any good ones on the Island. Compared with other beach resort destinations this is a strict family with kids and senior citizens destination. The government fees are around $38.00 per night, justified if you notice the security, the niceness of the officers, and some improvements in the Island, however, more is needed and there should be a toll to enter the main tourist areas. Overall the goal was accomplished, nice tan and relaxation!!!

Our room was changed once because they gave us a concrete view of the entrance first. Second room had water damage and leaking from the ceiling. The whole floor smelled like old cigarettes. The carpet was so gross and outdated! The front desk treated us like crap I guess because we booked on Expedia! I asked for another arm band because I lost mine in the pool and they wanted my husband’s information so he came to the desk. Then they wanted all of the arm bands off of my kids that were already on the way to the beach. So we all gave back the three we had and received the 4 back. They said they were booked and couldn’t give us another room with double beds. I was like ok no problem I will just get an air mattress so the kids get to have a good time anyway. We have been staying at this hotel durning the second week of July for 10 years! I asked a different employee and she told me they were not full at all and could move me! I was literally infuriated! The beach had 90cal matter and bacteria that I was informed of by another guest which was just insane the hotel staff didn’t tell us when we arrived! So my kids DID NOT STEP FOOT ON THE BEACH! We went to the pool and a large number of guest that seemed to be drunk started singing and brought down a huge speaker cussing and making racial remarks was also a horrible event that took place! The pool manager James had to talk with them on three different occasions! I didn’t feel safe with biracial kids at all and they were scared!

The hotel grounds are in impeccable shape and were beautifully decorated for Christmas. The rooms were comfortable with nice views and a balcony overlooking the Gulf. The amenities were great and stay open long enough to actually be used by kids and adults. Overall, this is a great hotel with friendly service, and we will stay here again.

Rooms were run down. Not clean. Hallways smelled. Staff not helpful. Shuttle they provided didn’t show up. My child lost their wrist band and they wouldn’t replace it. Poor customer service. Overpriced. Would not recommend.
