Springhill Suites by Marriott Galveston

Perfect stay for the night before our family cruise.

The property is old. Not quiet. The toilet clogged in the morning. Indoor pool is great for kids play in the winter. The staff are friendly.

Breakfast could have been better. The room was big enough for a family of 4 .

This hotel charges way more that it should. It was almost $300 per night for our “family Suite”, but wasn’t even better than a Motel 6. Our family came to Galveston for a week and unfortunately we wasted our only summer vacation time in this dump. If we could afford to book another hotel and take the loss, we would have. They “gym” only had one treadmill in a tiny room. The pool left a lot to be desired. The paint was peeling off of the ceiling and you have to beg for towels. I literally had to trade in 3 towels in order to be given a fresh set. We are a family of 5 that had to share 3 towels. This place was a COMPLETE DISASTER. Save your money and find a much better place to stay. And I skipped breakfast there the entire week because of how pathetic it was. Not many options at all.

For an older Hotel it was nice. The check in staff were nice and polite. They recommended a great shuttle company to pick us up from Hobby Airport and bring us to the Hotel in Galveston. Then pick us up the next day and take us to the Cruise line entrance. The Bed was very comfortable :), and the breakfast was good and hot :) Tks.. The only thing was the mirror in the room was not cleaned,(Lots of kids dirty hand prints :(

This hotel is our first choice stay every time we travel to Galveston. Even though it's not "brand new fresh" building, - it is always clean and staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient: 6 minutes to Kroger/Sea wall, easy to navigate. Breakfasts are decent too with omelet, yogurts, fruits, etc. Pool is open 7am-11pm, which is super-helpful when the weather is not perfect and kids are in sugar-rush mode :)

View from my window was telephone pole with large transformers. Mattress on hide-a-bed was awful. Needs to be replaced. My son's family who stayed in room across from us had to use our shower because they had no hot water. When we checked in we were assigned a room next to the elevators and close to road noise. We were changed to another room but it was not ready so we had to wait. Very poor experience. Breakfast was good and hotel was in a convenient location. Not easy to get to when coming from any other direction than right off freeway.

I like that one hotel room can comfortably accommodate me and my three boys; the mini fridge and microwave are super convenient & help cut the cost of eating out, along with the free breakfast in the morning; The biggest selling point for my family is definitely the indoor pool & of course I love that I get all of that at an affordable price; oh and can't forget the great customer service I received upon arrival.

We enjoyed our trip to Galveston! We stayed at this hotel and the pool was closed because it was an inside pool because of the covic 19. We were very disappointed because we had asked Expedia if they had a pool they never enclosed that it was closed other than that our trip was great ! This was sad for us because we had children that wanted to swim !
