Great little hotel in the heart of a night life district. Great for a group of adults college age. I wouldnt reccommend children or solo travelers at this location. Also, note! Some rooms are beds only meaning you share bathroom amenities with other guests. I found that the only negative of the stay as it was not "well" indicated on the ad. Not an issue in a large group. Otherwise a really fun unique experience!

The cabin rooms with the communal bathroom was actually the way to go. The price was so much better and as long as you don’t mind a little hair in the drain from whomever used the shower before you, you’re going to be fine! The staff was so nice and helpful, especially Becca and her bar staff. Amazing and so thoughtful! I’d recommend East Austin Hotel to close friends and family.

The East Austin Hotel is exceptionally overpriced for what it is. It has some unique decor and the room layouts are more modern but it’s overall okay at best. It’s also in a transition area that is partially decent and then the rest is rundown. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone but most especially not families.

This is not a family place-I’m pretty sure they hate kids here-we got lots of looks from staff. Overall everyone was nice to our face, but you could tell they didn’t like our kind there. It’s a place for rich trendy young 20-30 somethings. Also there’s not a lot of guests right now, so they watched us like hawks and charged us for our unregistered dog that we tried to sneak in. We were charged $85 and our dog was there for a total of 17 hrs. I’m a rule breaker, but I feel like if you’re paying $200/night some things should be complimentary or overlooked. There was a few staff that were nice-the guy behind the desk with dark spiky hair and our pool waiter with the orange shirt and dark man bun. We also got two parking tickets from a private parking company in unmarked spots that looked like it was free hotel parking, but clearly was not. Anyways I think we’ve realized not to stay downtown in trendy non-family hotels anymore.
