Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort

Overnight stay while visiting family.

The hotel was nice but needs to be upgraded, beds, furniture, etc. Great location right on the beach. Front desk was amazing, very sweet ladies. Lazy river needs to be clean, jacuzzi outside needs to be fix, I had to be the button person so people could have bubbles lol. Overall I had a ball, I feel like with a good renovation baby the hotel would be the bomb.

Great location, if a little noisy near the downtown strip. I wore earplugs to sleep. Chill vibe and diverse family clientele that we appreciated. Somewhat dated facility but very clean and the price was right. We had a great time with our kids.

Good location. Room small but adequate. Lots of noisy children- expected because it was Independence week. Parking facilities inadequate. Room key supposed to unlock parking lot gate- often would not work. When I asked at front desk, was told ‘it is what it is.’ Snarky inadequate response. Would not stay again.

Our first night, we contacted then regarding no balcony after expressed need due to young children’s need to fall asleep without being able to see parents. Unable to accommodate, but understandable - no option for window to open, completely closed up. On arrival, like most places, room was incredibly hot. we adjusted thermostat but it had not cooled in 2 hours, we decided to go out to eat and give it more time. We came back another 4 hours later with no improvement. It was cooler in the hot lobby than in our room (our room was totally open to the lobby). We called for assistance, they came and advised it had been fixed. It was 10pm so we went to bed because of the kids. We woke and it was still very hot. We made the most of the day and advised it was still not working. We returned with no improvement. We decided to leave because we could not do another night. The fan in the bathroom was blocked with lint and did not even cut on. The sheets had dark stains on them. There was trash left behind from whoever checked out before us. We were not offered anything for the terrible experience. We drove over 4 hours and spent over $800 for 2 nights. Spent one night there and got absolutely no sleep. Do not recommend at all.

I thought the property was very clean for us, the room was a bit smaller than imagined for the price but it worked, however the bathroom and kitchenette area was a tight space. Great indoor, outdoor pools, and hot tubs. Very good parking options. Negative was when I was checking in, the lady had asked to see the card that I paid online with to confirm and I handed it to her, she then ran my card through the machine in front of me without asking me or telling me what she was running my card for and I had to ask “what was that payment that you just ran my card for” she proceeded to tell me that it was for a resort fee. I would’ve paid it however they are supposed to tell you what you are paying for but she took it upon herself to swipe my card and not say anything about it so that was unsettling for me. Other than that, my family had a good time on our trip to North Myrtle Beach.

It says 1 min walk to OD pavillon with rides. They fail to tell you that they closed in 2016. I asked the staff if there was an amusement park and they had no clue. There was no dining during the day. Couldn’t even get a cup of coffee except for in room coffee which was for two cups and not enough cream or sugar. They say great for families. Not much to do but go to pool/beach. They seemed to have dining with music/band. Did not check it out. No blankets just a top sheet. The property/rooms/bathrooms need some major updating. Very outdated.

I really enjoyed my stay Ocean Drive. The check and staff was super friendly upon arrival and check in was a breeze. Our room was super clean, which usually doesn’t happen at hotels, so I was very impressed at the cleanliness of the room but with the caveat there is some type of thing in the tub to make it nonstick that could definitely use being replaced as it was a little old and stained. We did have an issue with the handle to the balcony door coming off to which the staff came from police and fixed it, but it didn’t help falling off again, and I just decided to not say anything else. The pool area was really nice although I will say our first night there it didn’t appear to be very clean but the next day it look better we did not end up using the pool with all. There were some things that of course I’ll be on the hotels control mainly being the people staying in the room beside a smoked weed the entire time and also I saw some people who had a baby in the pool without a swim diaper on I know none of this can be completely controlled by the hotel, but I didn’t really see any type of supervision either. As far as the person next to a smoking weed, it would’ve had to of been obvious to the cleaning staff and maintenance staff because you could clearly smell it all on the floor that we were staying on so I feel like that could’ve been controlled by the hotel. But overall, I would stay at this place again, if I was looking for accommodations in the area.

The resort was very nice. It was clean and family friendly. The view was great! The only thing I didn’t like were the beds. The beds were not comfortable at all.
