Wyndham Newport Hotel

The Wyndham was a good first stay nearish to downtown Newport. Here are some pros and cons: PROs: It was wonderful that they had a shuttle that drops you at the post office downtown and picks up you there to go back to the hotel fairly frequently. The drivers were great too. The restaurant on site is not just convenient in location but the food is decent. We liked being able to sit outside by the fire pits at night and the live music added something. CONS: You hear everything in the hall as well as the elevator. The bathroom offers no privacy. Because of the sliding glass door (that doesn't even stay completely closed), you hear everything inside and outside of the bathroom in the room. If someone turns on the bathroom light at night it lights up the room. The closet space is way to small for a room with 2 king beds. We're a family of 3 that stayed for 5 days and didn't have enough space to hang our clothes. Drawers would be better than cubbies. There are not enough hooks for towels. There was one hook permanently installed within reach of the shower and a couple other stick on hooks that wouldn't stay attached. Because the glass of the shower goes all the way to the ceiling and the bathroom door slides, there was no where else to hang anything. It wasn't entirely clear the pool is a 3 season room type pool - not both an indoor and outdoor pool, and it was warm like tub water (gross), and no towels available. It's ridiculous to be charged $4 for drip coffee downstairs.

Excellent clean, large room and comfortable clean bedding. A very friendly family hotel close to everything.

Great resort located just outside of the Newport waterfront area. Rooms are very large and clean. The staff at the restaurant are super nice. The food is great and there is live music. You will hear the music from your room between 7-10pm if your room faces the restaurant. Overall it was a great stay for my family. I will definitely book this hotel again.

The employees are courteous and the room is clean. The a/c is a little loud. I dislike how loud the sound the doors make whenever the other room door closes(like a thud every time) and how thin the walls are, i could hear a guy talkiing loudly in the next room and kids talking in the hallway at night. Also in my room sometimes i heard the buzzing sounds, not sure where or what it is. But they did put up the sign that says try to be quiet after 11pm. I guess kids ignores it. Other then that, if i have no other choice, i will stay therw again.

Hotel was great! Super clean, modern and the kids loved the pool! Beds were comfy as well!

Pros: check-in staff was friendly, the room was very clean, King size beds were very comfortable and walk-in shower was huge! The pool was heated, which was welcomed in February. Also took a free shuttle to downtown Newport for a dinner reservation near the wharf. Very pleasant gentleman gave us some knowledge of certain landmarks, etc. on the drive over. Saved me the extra hassle to find parking! Cons: The Johnny’s restaurant staff never checked back to refill coffee, etc. for breakfast and it took forever to get a check/pay it. The king size bed had a larger wood bed frame that came out 2-3 inches out from the mattress, you’ll hit your shins a few times. The rooms are not soundproof. We had (2) women with (5) boys in the rooms next to us and until 11:00pm they were running down halls, yelling, slamming doors which ended when I stepped out and asked it too, but unfortunately it started again at 6:30am. I will never understand how parents will allow their children to act as if they were home and do whatever they want, not respecting how other people are on vacation too and need quiet after a certain hour at night and in the morning.

Like having a restaurant in hotel and swimming for my grandchildren very convenient location

This is a nice property, the shuttle was very convenient. The facility was clean and organized. Could not use the pool since was too busy and too many kids. Close to the beaches.

Great for larger families.

Room was super clean, spacial and the condition was perfect. My kids enjoyed the little pool. The AC was a little too loud though.
