Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre - East Mountain, an IHG Hotel

First room they gave us had a clogged toilet full of poop. Would not flush. 2nd room they gave us also had toilet problems. They said a plumber was coming to fix the toilet and no one ever showed up. There was mold on the ceiling inside the shower. The room smelled like mold. Room was dirty, old rugs, hallways smelled of pot and smoke. Hotel was supposed to be non-smoking. After several complaints to the front desk, the manager discounted our room when we checked out for all the inconveniences. Pool was very small and filled with kids. Fitness center was very small and packed with people. The breakfast was excellent!

Representatives at front desk and the Bistro were very friendly and helpful. We had a family reunion and were hoping the hotel would have been a bitore updated. Some areas were nice but some need attention. Love the softness of the sheets.

Liked being able to gather outside with our family and enjoy dinner and the firepit. And this is a small thing, but the bathroom had a nightlight. Yay! No more leaving the light on so we could find it in the middle of the night.

The front desk staff was excellent and very accommodating. Xavier in particular. We have a 6 month old baby and they went above and beyond to assist us with early check in since it was raining and our baby needed to nap. Highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here with my child. I didn’t know they didn’t have a microwave or refrigerator in the room which was essential with a baby. The room is spacious. There are some things that need to be updated (proof of a leaking ceiling inside the shower and water stain on the wall art). The room was cleaned once and i stayed for 5 days and i had to call down to front desk to request it. I ended up seeing the housekeeper in the hall and asked for service. When it did get “cleaned” they only changed the linen. They didn’t wipe down surfaces, vacuum or replace toiletries. The front desk/maintenance staff and host/bartender were the stars of this hotel. They were pleasant and informative. The hotel was an okay stay if you don’t mind the above mentioned. The restaurant food is really good. I had the Philly cheesesteak and wings. The stay was affordable and adequate.

Hotel was good. Pool was great for the kids. Bistro had good drinks and food.
