Holiday Inn Erie, an IHG Hotel

Very clean and well kept hotel. Perfect for our short family trip to Erie. The kids loved the pool and the adults appreciated the clean, comfy rooms.

Reserved three rooms for my family for the weekend. All were very nice and very clean. Beds were comfortable. My only two complaints - one of the rooms (477) had a continual buzzing/vibration coming from the wall that the tv was on. Maybe HVAC vents running through the wall?? We had the adjoining room to that wall (475) with no buzzing or vibration. The other issue was low staffing. When we checked in around 9pm, there were two families ahead of us waiting for the clerk to come back to the desk. Not sure how long they waited before I got there, but it was another 14 minutes before she showed up. By then there was a total of 7 families waiting to check in with just one person.

When we arrived, we were tired from traveling. We went to bed around 11:30, only to be constantly awoken by children running up and down the hallways screaming. No parents in sight, needless to say we didn’t get much rest that night.

So this hotel is newer- but even so I was not happy. I was very disappointed that our hotel room had globs of grease on the dresser- there is no possible way it was wiped down. The fridge upon opening had a terrible smell of left over food that was so strong the entire room smelled. The handle on the glass shower door was hanging off. The air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a car engine running in the room. My 8yr old was so upset because he couldn’t fall asleep- I called the front desk and they told me how to turn it off- but It got so hot in the room I had to keep turning it on to cool the room off and turn it off to fall asleep again. The pillows were practically flat - and the breakfast was very misleading. For 10 dollars 2 adults could eat and 2 children. So it certainly was cheap- but they stated it was “made to order” and a full service restaurant. That it was not. They didn’t even have pancakes on the menu and no chocolate chip anything for the kids. My kids love breakfast. The only option was really waffles- and they tasted like pure sugar. The eggs I ordered were not real eggs at all (maybe some kind of mixture?) - I wish they were just honest about what it was- I would have just gone out to eat. Traditional continental breakfasts where you can make your own waffles and grab yogurt and muffins was far more appetizing than what they served. There were others complaining about how misleading it was. Will look for a different hotel next time.

Great hotel. The room was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The only suggestion I have would be for the breakfast staff to promptly clean tables for the next families. Many of the tables were dirty upon our arrival. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was clean. in a good location and the staff was friendly. The only issue we had was the water in the shower was warm at best. We were on the top floor and thought it might be the fact that there were a lot of school kids when we got there. That was not the case. Water was barely warm enough to take a shower. The hot water from the sink was just fine. We told the staff at the front desk on the first day and it seemed a bit better the next morning but then went back to barely warm. They did offer to have us move but after traveling for 19 hours we really didn't need the hassle. There were 3 of use and we had a lot of luggage. We were also very busy every day and would come back to the hotel tired. Moving to another room just was not convenient.

Was a great stay for us and our family members! Nice clean hotel and nice staff!

The hotel is new nice and nicely updated. Me and my family only stayed 1 night and it was very comfortable

No complementary breakfast. Expensive for what you get. Only two towels for family of four, asked for more and they never came. Had to track down a cleaner to get more towels.

When i told the front desk the door would not lock when i shut it (you could open the door from the outside) i was told yeah some of our doors do that. We had to use the dead bolt, which was fine, i do that anyways, but i could not leave the room because anyone could have walked in. So as my daughters went to the pool and to get dinner, i had to stay in the room so no one could just walk in. Very disappointing paying $160 for a room that i could not leave and my family could not be together.
