While there was much to like about this hotel, there were also issues. The bathroom had a big hole in the wall and the shower door's track looked gunky. The hallway carpet was dirty and a popsicle stick that was dropped there early in the weekend was still there when I checked out on Sunday. While it wasn't really the hotel's fault, the place was filled with kids in town for a sporting event, and they raced up and down the hallway, sounding like a herd of squealing, giggling elephants. Sunday morning, the breakfast buffet wasn't well stocked. And at check-out, there was no one around until another guest went looking for them. However, the gentleman who checked me in was professional, courteous, and efficient. The bed was comfortable. And the coffee was plentiful. I'm just not sure the good outweighed the bad.

Didn’t like that staff had no identification, no uniform. I had no idea who was staff and who was a visitor. Breakfast area was poorly stocked and no one to monitor it. Too many kids running up and down the halls. Loud and noisy.

It was as expected. Bfast was okay. Clean eating area and attentive. Shower needed some attention. Hallways need a vacuum. Overall, it was okay. Room was not dirty but shows they are short staffed like every other hotel. My kids loved the 6 week old puppy they had brought out for the guest to have fun with.

The staff here was welcoming and interested in our family. It was a wonderful place with kids -- waffles with Nutella and a pool - what more does a 9 and 11 year old want. We loved it and will be back!

We came to Erie for a family overnight trip before Back to School. Check in went smoothly, our room was clean and cooled down quickly for bed. The pool opened at 6am so we were able to get in a morning swim before complimentary breakfast (loved the waffles) and getting ready for our day. Shower heated up immediately. For some reason we had two shampoos and no conditioner but not a big deal. Also the OJ machine was out of order at breakfast but other than that we didn't have a problem. Definitely recommend. Great value for the price and the location was easy to find and get to where we were going.

Our room was booked wrong and my family was forced to cram into a room with 1 bed, everyone refused to help us even though it was their mistake and told us that we had no other choice but to deal with it

Epic fail. Traveling from NY back home to IL, we booked the Best Western in Erie thru Expedia. We arrived at 10:30pm with 2 tired kids, eager to check in and get some rest. The lobby was choatic.
The hotel was not properly staffed. There was only 1 employee on site. When we approached the front desk we were told that our reservation had been canceled. That she had tried calling us (nope). None of the rooms had been cleaned and there were no clean towels.
Ended up driving hours more until we were able to find a safe place to stop with availability.
Huge disappointment. Would not recommend.

The staff was borderline incompetent. Beds were dirty and unmade when we checked in. Took 15-20 minutes for staffer to make one bed. We grew impatient and made the other one. Staff was unable to help me print a two page document and actually suggested that I seek assistance from neighboring hotel. Plus, another family were given keys to our room and they barged in at 11:00 pm. Later, I realized our keys were deactivated when I could not regain access to our room. Won’t be back.

Initial room they gave us was not made up or clean. They moved our room and we were put near other families who were very loud at night. Our room that was supposedly clean, the toilet was disgusting and it looked like someone had been laying on the bed

Have been a happy Best Western customer for 20 years, but I'm not sure if I'll ever stay in one again. Power outages are an "act of God" but no power outage should cause false fire alarms. My toddler woke up terrified and after three earsplitting repeats, spent the entire rest of the night fearfully staring at the alarm.
Untrained employees were still trying to figure out how to reset systems late into the morning, and we're quite likely the ones setting off the fire alarm all night. The "Assistant Manager" called it an act of God, when it's really an act of bad wiring and even worse training. She also claimed that she was unable to give compensation, which we all know is BS.
Breakfast is okay if you like sugar and carbs and packaged food. Workers are nice, especially the guy who works the front desk in the evenings, but truly some of the worst management staff of any Best Western, and likely to cost them more lifetime customers.
