Baymont by Wyndham Erie

For the amount we paid for a single night stay, I would have expected a much better experience. We booked a single night stay as it was the halfway point on our family roadtrip. The reviews all looked good so I figured it would be somewhat decent but quickly found I was wayyyyy wrong. The hotel staff were super friendly and probably the only thing enjoyable about our stay. I don’t know much about the area but I’d guess it’s not in the best area. The walls were super thin and we heard sirens ALL night long. On the way to the hotel there were multiple people likely under the influence of meth hunched over at the corner. Check in was easy as we used pre-check in. The room itself was much smaller than I expected. The bathroom sink is not in the bathroom and the complementary washes were empty in the shower. We had a family of 4, but were given 2 towels and wash rags. I called the front desk to request more and had to go down to get them. As soon as we turned on the A/C it filled the room full of the smell of marijuana. Someone must have been smoking nearby causing the air to blow the smell into the room. We quickly had to turn the A/C off to keep our clothes from smelling. Not the greatest experience when you have kids with you. During the night it got overly warm. Likely because we had to the A/C off. The complementary breakfast was bland and picked over. The ice machine also didn’t work. We went be back.

It was an average stay. It needed cleaned a little bit more like in crevices and corners and the shower was very weak as well. Beds are pretty hard and the pillows are tiny. Breakfast was good and I didn't know they kept a pretty large deposit at least for my family so it kind of put a damper on doing some things.

Super nice staff! But part of the reason we picked this hotel was all the reviews saying how clean it was and that was just not our experience. The sheets on one bed had clearly not been changed (crumbs, hair, dirt). And I get that white linens are industry standard to show they are clean, but that also means you have to throw away your stained (and ripped) ones, which has clearly not been happening at this location. Elevator is very load so I was relieved we weren’t the room right by it; door shutting and hallway noise is definitely loud in the rooms. Microwave in the room was a nice perk since I was traveling with kids. You get what you pay for and this was not a terrible stay, but if you are choosing based on all the reviews stating it’s very clean, know that your experience may vary.

This stay was more quiet than the last stay. No kids running all over hotel.

Friendly staff and clean. Breakfast was great and attendant super good and hard working. Downfall, people above our room were very heavy footed and kids jumping/ banging things at all hours. Shower drain clogged so standing in tub water all through shower.

We stay here everyone time we come to Erie with our 2 children. Staff is super friendly. Very clean place. 10/10

The room size was a pleasant surprise. It was larger than I expected and I was glad for the extra room. I was assured by the front desk that I was in a quiet area on the 4th floor but had screaming children running up and down the halls until midnight the first night. Bathroom was generally clean but had some spots on the floor that made me think it was not really sanitary. The television channel selection was abysmal. Truly a terrible selection. Half of advertised channels listed on the guide channel did not work. Not much of a selection. Direct TV is generally a poor choice for a point-of-sale, and they demonstrated that here. On a positive note; breakfast was just great and the proximity to the casino and shopping really makes this a prime spot.

We stayed one night at this hotel. The check-in was easy. The staff answered all of our questions. Our room was on the first floor. When we entered the room, everything looked fine. But when we looked in the bathroom, there were wet towels laying in a pile on the floor. The surfaces looked as if they had been cleaned. The beds were made and clean towels were there for our use. I think the maid just forgot to pick up the towels on her way out. We ended up kicking the wet towels under the sink. The hotel was very quiet. There were a lot of kids running around when we checked in and we thought it might be a long/loud night. But we actually didn't hear them. In the morning we walked down to the breakfast area. They offered eggs, potatoes, crispy bacon, toast, waffles, and french toast. There was also yogurt, cold cereal, and fruit. The staff kept the food filled up and the area clean.

The family was just passing through & this was a perfect spot. Very friendly service, decent breakfast & safe clean facility.
