Really nice hotel. The kids liked it better than Sheraton, because of the pool and the room (but let's not exagerate lol). The surroundings of the hotel are not attractive, not horrible. Breakfast has something for everyone. Not to far from the beach and the zoo.

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was one of the least expensive in the area but it had free breakfast and a pool so we gave it a try. The hotel smells clean and pleasant when you walk in. A faint scent of chlorine and “pool” when you walk towards the end of the hall, but not bad at all. Check in and check out were quick. I had 2 kids with me and they loved the pool. The water was warm and there were lounge chairs and tables to use as well as plenty of towels! The hotel was not very crowded so we stayed in the pool for a long time and enjoyed it. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was quite comfortable too. The breakfast was really good. Cheese omelets, red skin potatoes, sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, bread, cereal, oatmeal with many topping options, 2 types of waffles to make, hard boiled eggs. There were 4 types of juice as well as ice water, milk coffee and tea. So many delicious choices! We really enjoyed the breakfast and it was replenished often and very clean. The staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. My only slight complaint was that the coffee there was terrible. The light roast was very strong and bitter. Luckily there is a Tim Hortons just up the street! The other concern was the temperature in the room. It was quite chilly but I believe it was due to the boys “turning down” the air and not a true room issue. Either way it was manageable and we really enjoyed our time there.

I reserved 5 rooms for my family ($1,000+), in town for a family funeral. We arrived around 3 pm and waited more than 30 minutes for someone to be at the desk. Eventually someone arrived from off property. The desk was unattended for 30+ minutes. I had reserved via Hotel.com, and when we checked in, we were given keys to rooms randomly. Later, when my wife and some kids returned from the funeral to change before going to another family function, my wife had lost her key. The manager on duty (January 15 afternoon) asked to see her ID. The room we were in was technically assigned to our son's fiance --meaning it was the only room of the 5 that did not have our last name. The manager would not give my wife a new key, and would not listen to any attempts to solve the issue. She did not care that my wife's name matched the other four rooms or that we paid for all. She didn't care that a grown woman and three adult children, all dressed for a funeral, were unlikely to be pulling an elaborate scam. She would not respond to requests from my wife to go in the room for my wife. She made no effort to problem-solve in any way. My son stepped in and offered to call our daughter in law and get her okay. He dialed her number and let the manager ask her permission over the phone. Absurd-he could have called anyone! (He didn't.) When my wife left the desk area-in tears (on her mother-in-law's funeral day!) the manager bad mouthed her to her co-workers (which my kids overheard). Unforgivable.

The staff were very accommodating in allow our family, some of which were local to the area but not staying at the hotel, to have a luncheon that we had brought in and set up in the lobby/commons area. The breakfast had a very good selection along with the quality of food. My whole family enjoyed the experience.
