The staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was great and the woman serving the breakfast was excellent however, the pool, which we mainly went for for the children to enjoy was not enjoyable at all. It was overtaken by swimming lessons and swimming swimming instructors yelling at my kids. Stay out of their way they had the door open for anyone to come in, and I had to listen to screaming and crying of babies swimming. Apparently, they have a deal with the swimming instructor where he supposed to use a portion of the pool however that was not happening. The manager did go over after I had to complain and ask him to use the part of the pool that he is designated to use.

We were on Long Island because of a death in the family. We purposely checked in before going to the wake so we could get our keys knowing we would be coming back late. The person who checked us in didn't write the room number on the envelope. It was a real hassle getting the info. Then upon checking out on January 5, the desk person was so curt and nasty to me. Very unprofessional

The hotel was in a great location - close to a major shopping mall, plenty of dining options in the area, walking distance to a Whole Food Markets and other restaurants. The hotel was clean - the room was spacious (handicap) - although it was on the first floor and near the breakfast area - the room was quiet - I didn't hear any noise in the morning despite the hotel being filled with college kids for a sporting event - so that was great. Overall a good, clean, safe environment.

Good location. Lots of shops close by. Very convenient from JFK airport. Very clean. Good service. Good breakfast. Perfect for family with kids

Such a horrible experience at this hotel. Booked as we were visiting for a weekend wedding. Made a reservation a week ahead of arrival. Called the hotel 3 days before check in to add on an extra day but was told it was unavailable as they were completely booked, so I ended up booking at a different hotel. Was expecting to check in on Saturday with a confirmed reservation, called ahead around 6pm to let them know that I will be checking in late and was told someone would be there to check me in and that my room was ready. After a very lengthy drive we arrived at hotel at midnight, with 2 young children in tow only to be told by the Front desk that my reservation had been cancelled (no email indicating cancellation and neither was it showing as cancelled on Expedia) and that there was no rooms available for us. The front desk did try to “find” us a room however that did not happen. He was very apologetic but that didn’t get my family anywhere to sleep, after driving 10 hours!! Why is this allowed to happen? Had I not shown up wouldn’t I have been charged a fee and possibly 1 night fee for no show? Why is it that I am not compensated for showing up and my room not being available? Note we were not able to find a hotel room and had to rest for the night in our car. Also there were also 3 other persons that night with a confirmed reservation that was also struggling to find alternative accommodation even though they all had confirmed reservations. What an absolute nightmare!!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn. It was very clean and my kids enjoyed the heated pool.
