DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Buffalo - Amherst

Labor Day, one of the first days I was able to sleep in in a very long time. Took the kids to the hotel for the night And promptly at 7:57 AM there was a knock at the door, It was the maid asking to clean our room. I don’t understand why we would even be bothered as we hadn’t even woken up much less checked out yet. Needless to say, couldn’t go back to sleep after that and left right after that. Front desk could have cared less when I checked out Absolutely frustrating and unnecessary. That should never happen. And at least care about it if you are the manager. I will never stay with Doubletree again

Travelled with family. Overall very good experience

Took me a half hour to check in despite being 2nd in line. The first room I was given smelled like a break room for the cigarette smokers in the hotel, my family waited in the hallway and I went back to wait in line, they gave me another room but only after my wife had to bring down the other room card.?? The 2nd room had both barrels filled with trash and a television that didnt work 60% of the weekend. When i contacted the front desk I was told "I am the only person in the hotel". The service at the bar was great Thursday and comical Friday and Saturday, bartender would literally disappear with a female companion in the kitchen for 20+ minutes at a time. Nice guy, terrible bartender. The red roof in next door looks like a shelter with groups of people hanging outside 24hrs a day. I will say the proptery has plenty of free parking and is right off the highway. Also when inquiring about a potential 4th night more than one of us was told they had no rooms despite every app possible showing they had plentiful options. Didnt see a manager to even talk to in the 3 night stay. I will definitely try my luck somewhere else next year.

We usually book hotels near UB when coming to town, as there is a cluster of hotels in area. This Doubletree a step above the others in Neibhborhood IMO. Only issue we had were noisy people up upstairs......think they were kids as there was a Hockey Tournament and it seemed like there were a lot of kids/parents at Hotel. Noise the guests, not the hotels fault. Clean, easy to get to, very comfortable room and beds.

the hockey kids were annoying and the bathroom really needs to be cleaned. i wouldn't shower there. the floors were also dirty in our room and the bathroom.

Worst Hilton hotel we have ever stayed in . We were there for the 4th of July long weekend with the family for 2 nights . Both of our rooms were dirty . We called the front desk 3times to request room service. No one showed up . Then I went to the front desk to request for the room service still no one came .we were traveling with a sick 6month old baby . All we wanted was a clean room and a clean bathroom. Room floor was very sticky and dirty . I will never stay here again.

Perfect place to stay with family.

I liked that it had a pool. The room was neat but I noticed there were water stains on the wall and ceilings. Later I also noticed shiny remnants of some liquid that was on the furniture and headboards. I don't know if it was a spray they used to sanitize or some kids that threw drinks all over the place. We used Lysol wipes on everything. The lamp near the window was rusty from the water. The shower had mildew in the corners and some pink mould. Not much but it could use a bleaching. Late at night some teenagers were talking and running around in the halls until 2am. For $150 a night I thought it would be better. When I went to the front desk for some towels the night manager was on the phone and didn't acknowledge me. I waited for 5 minutes and went up to my room. I called down and he said to come down and pick them up. They also need to fix the lights in the parking lot. It's very dark around the side entrance.
