I want to start by saying I get this is an old hotel w/ an antique aesthetic. I understand some rooms will be small due to the nature of the building, but we were put in a hardly manageable space for two adults and a toddler. For a one or two night stay for two adults- small but fine. Add a toddler for a 6 might stay? Pretty terrible. The furniture was “antique”, but seemed easily breakable & didn’t want to sit on the chair. Dresser was broken, nightstand wobbly. Bathroom was “updated”: disappointing. We were in two different rooms & neither bathroom door closed. Shower only, no tub. If you want a fridge or microwave, you have to ask the front desk??? Not sure what that means, there is no space to put it in the room so I would assume someone else would be handling storing my leftovers. The location was great! There is a facial soap bar, but no “hand soap”. There is a small shampoo provided, but no body wash or conditioner. Those amenities would be helpful & minimal expense for the cost. The staff was… okay. Not overly happy or helpful, but not mean I guess. My parents (2 adults) stayed in a room down the hall & the room was SO much bigger- even had a tub. I just don’t understand why the Hotel couldn’t let us know that the accommodations would be tough w/ a two year old. We checked in, they saw us and our stuff. Ultimately, you have to go in w/ low expectations & understand you are *only* paying for location. No frills or extras.

We were disappointed that the "pool" listed was an oversized hot tub that is 3' deep. Our kids were pretty bummed about that. I would suggest listing it as an oversized hot tub and not a "pool."

What a charming hotel. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help. Lots of old photos and history on the walls to entertain you while waiting for family members or enjoying your free coffee. The lobby Mexican eatery is convenient and full of delicious huge portions for a reasonable price. So convenient from the Star Line dock and right in the middle of town. We really enjoyed our stay.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Murray. The rooms were a reasonable price and everyone was so friendly. The hotel is very quiet and is conveniently located right across from the Starline Ferry dock. I really enjoyed being able to sit in the rocking chairs on the front porch. I will define be staying here again.
