Quality Inn Saint Ignace

The hotel was wonderful and had a decent breakfast. Friendly staff but upon checking in the pool was closed and all day after traveling my kiddos were pretty bummed!

Let me start by saying that I work in hotel management and we booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child. Upon our arrival we were told we were on the 2nd floor and no elevator. Now my spouse isn't handicapped to needing a handicap accessible room but it wouldve been nice to know that we would need to make that selection at time of booking to ensure that he wouldn't have to hobble up and down the stairs. Then we found our room stocked with 4 hand towels, 6 wash cloths, and only 2 bath towels and 1 single use bottle each of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion - none of those make sense for a room that's supposed to be able to accommodate 4 people. The tub floor felt like it was going to give out under me when I was showering as though it was not braced during install. The bathroom sink faucet was mounted too far back so we can barely get our hands under the water. Our bedding had obviously not been changed since the previous guest because there were fresh stains that smelled of baby formula on the linens from one bed. Luckily we bring our own bedding for instances like this. Lastly, there was a large group/family staying on our floor whose kids kept running up and down the hallways, yelling/screaming, and kicking/knocking on our door and the adjoining walls to our room until 2am.

Beds comfy. Not enough outlets for all the family devices. Breakfast pretty basic-wasn’t all that good-biscuits hard.

I should have paid more attention to the reviews about not having an elevator. It is a hassle tugging our luggage up two flights of steps - especially with a toddler and after a long drive. Between that and the air conditioner only working for 10-15 minute intervals before needing to manually be turned off and then back on - all night - I would not be likely to return.

We were there three nights. The first day, we did not feel that the room needed cleaning or towels replaced, so we put the do not disturb sign up. The 2nd day, we were gone from 5am until 4pm. They never cleaned, emptied our garbage, or replaced our towels. My wife went down and told them and they gave her more shampoo.....? The staff seemed indifferent and depressed and not very eager to help. Finally, there was a family late at night in the hall being loud and they did nothing about it. We did not feel important to this hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Quality Inn. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd say the overall cleanliness could be improved as we found a pop can and a child's toy under our beds that were definitely not ours. Also, the pool chemicals seemed out of balance and my kids described the water as "slimey". However, the breakfast that is provided was fantastic! One of the largest breakfast selections I've seen for a hotel of this size. We'd stay here again.

We stopped over for one night and have no complaints. The room was comfortable and clean. The kids used the pool and really enjoyed the hot tub but the water was so full of chemicals you could barely see the bottom. Breakfast included hot food like scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy and make your own waffles which was a nice change from prepackaged muffins and granola bars that have been the covid staple.
