First, I will say it was very clean and the grounds were beyond gorgeous. The bed was comfortable (which is important to me). The room left some to be desired as it was very basic. No chest of drawers to put clothes in, not enough outlets. One outlet couldn't take a phone charger because it was so close to the built in headboard there wasn't room which indicates a lack of attention to detail. The walls were thin, but it was mostly families so no late night parties. We definitely knew what was going on with our neighbors during the day though. The food at the main restaurant was mediocre at best. It's pretty obvious where they spend their money and where they don't. Considering this is a resort and the price, I wasn't super impressed.

We liked everything about this hotel service and everything!the only thing we didn’t like we left the tip for housekeeper,my husband went back to check if he forgot anything and he saw the manager that took it,we waited for our housekeeper and asked her if she gave it to her she said no,this is so unfair and hurts when you see this things we tipped her again because we had little kids and our room was very messy

We were greeted by the staff and they answered all our questions. They helped us throughout our anniversary trip. We rented the bikes, took a horse and buggy tour and ate in the restaurant there at the resort. The spa was excellent and relaxing. We could not have asked for a more accommodating and helpful staff. The location is great. The rooms and facility was clean. Great for family or couples. Thank you!

It was like stepping back in time. We had the most relaxing vacation we have ever had, best family time. No cars, just beautiful horses and bicycles.

I have stayed at this property many times over the years and it only keeps getting better. I choose it because it is away from the busy-ness of the main street area; has a swimming pool; has beautiful views of Lake Huron; has multiple dining options; has lots of sitting/reflecting spaces; and has an amazing lawn with loads of comfortable chairs for just appreciating the beauty or reading. A bonus is that in recent years, I have been taking young grandchildren there, and kids eat free for dinner and breakfast. Unlike many places, the kids' food is GREAT too. My three LOVED their choices. As if there were not enough to love, the staff in the dining room and the pool could not have been kinder. They all talked with the kids (6, 8, and 12) and kidded and made them feel important.

It was a fabulous place to stay. I wish the pool was open later and there were other options (picky kid friendly) and later options for dining on-site. Those are small and would not stop me from staying again.

They resort property is absolutely gorgeous. The service is also solid - very friendly and helpful. My only feedback is around the room. We chose a two bedroom because of the kiddos which, functionally, was perfect. However, the bathroom we uncomfortably small and it was a little odd that there was no real dresser. The closet had a hanging fabric unit that we used in college. It just didn’t match the ambience of the hotel’s common grounds. Again, it worked for our situation but my husband and I would have been disappointed had it been the two of us. Needless to say, we would certainly stay again with our little ones.

The Mission Pointe Resort horse shuttle costs $8 per person EACH way…which is the same charge the non resort horse shuttle “ taxis” cost. It’s only a distance of maybe a mile to the downtown area where you are dropped off, more likely less. One would think the Mission Pointe shuttle from the resort should be complimentary for the guests of the hotel paying upwards of $350 per night plus tax.
The pool? Two words: Caddy Shack. But who’s there for the pool anyway besides ALL the kids in the resort AT ONCE! Ha. It’s ok..they loved it and it’s a nice feature for families with young kids. It would be nice if they had a small bar set up out there for the adults, but..nothing, unless we just missed seeing it.
Overall, good place for us because we had two dogs and stayed in the Straights lodge. Pleasant grounds, fantastic views, away from the crowded main downtown street scene. But if we didn’t have pets with us, I would stay elsewhere to be closer to town the next time..like The Island House just below Ft. Mackinac or at the other end of Main Street The Iroquois. ( fabulous place). Mackinac Island though..solid 10 . OH, had an outstanding fish ( walleye and perch dinners at the resorts main restaurant…maybe the best we’ve ever had. Anywhere.

The amazing staff made everything so smooth and easy, from the time we got off the ferry and taking our bags back to the hotel and holding it for us until check in to the front staff when checking in was so knowlegeable and informative, check in literally took 5 mins. The staff at the Round Island restaurant for breakfast were incredible. The breakfast was outstanding and the service was top notch. The activites like Glo Golf was so fun, our family played it once or twice the entire time we were there. I would recommend this property without a doubt. Thank you Mission Pointe Resort Staff for making our family's first trip to Mackinac Island something to remember for many years to come.
