Hilton Garden Inn BWI Airport

The pool area was not clean water was dirty in the hot tub. I also had to call the front desk because there was a party of 18 kids in the pool under the age of 12 with no adult supervision. The worker came in said is everyone ok and walked out.

My first room was on the 1st floor, as I walked to my room I saw signs saying this a completely non smoking floor. My room was close to the pool area too noisy with kids in pool. I went in room and it reeked of cigarette smoke! Big no for me. They gave me another room on 5 th floor which was acceptable but air was off, frog not working, no soap. Restaurant- I was Sykes to get a good cocktail waitress said oh that lust is inaccurate, they had a very limited alcohol and wine , out of the few healthy food options too. Staff was pretty friendly but you could tell they were struggling with their limited resources. Store was almost depleted.

The staff that checked me and my kids in was short of rude

Arrived about 8:15 to check in. Although there were 2 people occupying the desk, only 1 was actively checking people in. Inquired about rules to use the pool, there were none! After a 20 minute checkin, took the kids to get dressed for the pool. Arrived to the pool area and literally about 40 other people were occupying the pool. Left after 15 minutes because it was entirely too dangerous! I couldn’t visibly see my kids in the water. Spa hot tub had a visible bug in it. Food was ridiculously over priced and I had to contact the front desk due to hot water taking over 16 minutes to get warm.

My children and I had been traveling for 20 hours and this Hilton was our final stop for the evening. As we entered the hotel another guest was leaving and sounded like he had been in an altercation with the desk staff. I walked to the desk with my children and the desk staff asked me to wait. He switched out with another staff member and she sat at the computer in front of me and typed for a few seconds. My son was standing on a block at the base if a column beaide the desk and I asked him to stop climbing. He did. The staff member looked at me and said "Are you trying to check in?" She'd witnessed me walk up to the first gentleman and try to check in. It was very clear I was trying to check in. As she was processing my card and making our key card my son climbed back up on the column's block. The staff member pointed her finger at him and very tersely said, "Get down." She confirmed what I'd asked him to do earlier, however her tone and aggression wasn't necessary for a six year old boy who'd been awake and traveling for 20 hours. I did not address this with the staff member because I knew she'd just had a confrontation with a guest and saw she was under stress. She went back to our reservation and my son and daughter focused their attention on a pretty glass glass bowl in the lobby. My daughter touched it and rotated it around a few times, never lifting it or moving it quickly.
