Would NOT recommend! Arrived 2:15 asked to pay for early check in (willing to pay) and was told no. Then asked to access the pool to keep the kids occupied and was told no. Returned to the lobby by 3:30 to check on status of room and the line ran through the entire 1st floor out to Pratt Street. When wife asked staff to let her use the lobby restroom they told her to go to the 5th floor instead of opening the bathroom door for her. Told staff while in line FOR OVER AN HOUR that we had dinner reservations at 4:45 and would end up missing them. Was told there was nothing they could do for us to get us checked in. Upon finally reaching the front desk, I explained the urgency to the clerk Jaison that we were now 10 minutes late to our reservation and needed to get the process wrapped up as quickly as possible. He very rudely responded that “I was slowing the process down.” He then walked away and refused to help me. Someone else did step in and got our room keys. I’ve never experienced a lack of hospitality as we did at this property and we stay at A LOT of hotels. I would never recommend this property to anyone and will not be returning!

We wound up staying at the Renaissance after a host had canceled our reservation for our family last minute, we were panicked and exhausted. From the moment we arrived at the Renaissance, a weight was lifted. They allowed us to check in early which was much appreciated. We were able to salvage our trip and enjoy our time in Baltimore. We will definitely be booking our next stay at the Renaissance! The facility and atmosphere were amazing.

This property has so much potential because it is a Marriott hotel situated across the street from the Inner Harbor. Keep your expectations low until the staff gains some professionalism and is trained that guests are paying for hospitality, not rudeness or attitude. Upon our arrival, we were told that we had to pay for valet parking, but when he realized that we were paying guests, his tune changed and he told us where to park, etc. Hustle much? We arrived early, but Kiki at the Bon Voyage desk was ripe with attitude when telling me (and other guests) that check-in was at 4p. There was literally no exception to this rule, even though families with young kids were lining up at the front desk 15-30 minutes before 4p. The rugs and sofas in the lobby were filthy. The room was comfortable, but the sink drain was extremely slow draining and the toilet paper holder was barely hanging on. We are grateful this property allows pets, yet the green areas for the pets' relief needed mowing and sanitary clean up. Lastly, I noticed that the charges on my credit card did not align to Expedia's online rate including tax. When I asked the guy at the front desk, he seemed bothered, and incorrectly said it was incidentals that will be removed from my account at departure. His laziness and lack of helpfulness caused me to have to contact Marriott and Expedia. The restaurant staff were the only friendly and helpful people that we encountered. Keep expectations low and you'll be fine

It was a last minute trip to see family from the west coast but we used to live in Baltimore and have been to the restaurant many times in the past. We enjoyed our stay. The only complaint was that our room was not ready at 5:30 which was not acceptable. Husband made it happen because we had time contraints.

Upon checkin we were told the Bell Hop would get our bags and he did not. He actually went to the car behind us. When we pulled up he did ask if we needed help and i said yes but I was going to check in and my husband who was driving would get the bags out. I checked in early and the room was not ready and the front desk staff (whom I won’t name bc I’m not like that even though he was rude) told me that we could leave our bags on the closet by the front and that he would call us when our room was ready. After a very hard few hours of being out and about (dealing with personal issues) we arrived back at the hotel to get our bags and key. The same employee wanted to argue with me about the fact our bags had been checked in and we had the check in tags. They had not give us any. In fact when I brought the bags in by myself (no help from the front bell hop). The employee told me just to leave them. Then argued with me when we picked up that he had given me red tags. Until he walked out and looked at our bags and realized there were no tags. I then told him that he also was supposed to call and let us know our room was ready. I which he said well maybe it isn’t. I responded that that it’s 6p and it should be. I did call him boo because just what I do and over and over again he told me his name!! I am not rude enough to mention that here bc that is just not me. The pool was gross. No towels. And they tee piled up dirty. We didn’t even have one for the kids to dry on. I have pics

Noisy, unruly people at pool, shooting (17yo killed) on door step of the hotel. Staff was nice and attentive to issues that they could help with but overall the Harbor area seems no longer to be an area I am comfortable taking my kids.

Upon arrival the front desk staff was not very pleasant. I purchased a club level room which was supposed to include a lot of benefits. When we tried to go to the club lounge it was closed and not open. I called front desk and the woman was not very pleasant and she said she just found out it was closed!!!! She could not say why and told me to order breakfast from restaurant (which is a very limited menu) and they would credit me. I ended leaving the hotel the next day and not staying my entire four nights. In the morning after we moved hotels we found out a 17 year old boy was shot dead right out in front of the hotel. There were very big groups of kids hanging around which was a little nerve wracking. Would not stay there again.

The hotel was very nice. The staff as a whole was so friendly and helpful!! We were staying to attend the Orioles game and go to the aquarium. Unfortunately, we felt unsafe after dark. The first night we went to find something for dinner, around 8:30 and immediately realized that it was not a good idea and returned to the hotel where we ate dinner at the restaurant on the 5th floor. The next night, we walked to Camden Yards and back, and when we returned, there had just been a shooting in front of the hotel. We could not even enter the hotel through the doors we had all day b/c it was a crime scene. We were let in through a side door by hotel staff but my kids are a little traumatized. The shooting victims clothes were on the pavement and we learned that it was a 17 year old and he did not make it. Unfortunately, i will not be rushing to bring my children back to the inner harbor.

Inconvenience of not having shower gel at the room. We called several times but know one picks up. There is no method for them to call you back and follow up. Also, we were given a connecting room and the family next door have kids and were very loud.
