The Desoto Savannah

Checked in floor was so dirty and sticky we couldn’t walk… pool was so cloudy and dirty I would t let me kids swim 😭😢 wall paper peeling off walls tub was peeling!!!! DO NOT PAY 💰 FOR THIS HOTEL!!!! Staff didn’t care!!!!!

The hotel is centrally located, everything is within walking distance. Lobby is very nice and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint we all had is about the rooms. They are a bit outdated and we had issues with the shower drain and AC which resulted in us having to move rooms our first night. We stayed on the 2nd floor, pool view, and would hear kids screaming at the pool as early as 7am. The pipes in the bathroom also made a lot of noise. That said, we would stay here again.

Always a great stay. Perfect location Pool view rooms can be very noisy during summer months. Need to monitor children/guest that are excessively and unnecessarily loud & noisy

I recently stayed at the DeSoto Savannah, and unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, both rooms on my reservation weren't ready, despite being past the check-in time. To add to the frustration, I was charged double for rooms I had already paid for. While the lobby and bar area exuded charm and elegance, the ambiance drastically declined once on the room floors. Poor lighting made navigation challenging, and the rooms themselves were severely outdated and unclean, a far cry from the enticing images advertised online. The lack of cleanliness was appalling; the floors were grimy, the toilet bore unsightly skid marks, and the discovery of a bug wrapped in a supposedly clean washcloth was deeply unsettling. Upon bringing these concerns to the attention of the front desk, their response was merely an apology and a replacement of towels, which hardly addressed the issue. Moreover, the housekeeping service during our stay was subpar, barely meeting the minimum standards of cleanliness expected in a hotel of this caliber. Overall, my stay merits a disappointing 4/10 rating. The promising facade of the lobby and bar failed to mask the glaring shortcomings of the rooms and service, leading to a profoundly unsatisfactory experience.

The property is located in a good area where you find yourself close to parks and a 15-20 minute walk to the river. The hotel is DIRTY. My hotel room and hair in it and the bathroom’s floor was filled with what seemed to be baby powder. Also, the hotel’s restrooms are in terrible shape; they were dirty and missing soap. Out of the 7 stalls, I could not find a clean working one. I had to go to a restaurant across the street. I would NOT returns to this hotel or, advise anyone else to stay here.

We love staying at The Desoto and have done so several times when traveling from our home in Florida. I always recommend it to friends and family planning to visit Savannah.

My family and I had a nice stay here. If it wasn’t for the fact that they did not have daily housekeeping I would have nothing negative to say at all. My room was clean and quiet. Well the heat didn’t work but I did not address that to the staff, I’m sure they would have attended the issue. There was no refrigerator in the room but as soon as I asked about that they had one brought up immediately. I also received text messages every day inquiring as to how my stay was going. As for housekeeping, I still don’t know the policy. Upon check in I was told I needed to request daily housekeeping which I did. The following day the room wasn’t cleaned. I asked at the desk and was told by Raven that I could not have daily housekeeping but she would send someone the following day (which she did). But then another staff member said there were no restrictions so I still don’t know the policy. Honestly I probably wouldn’t stay here again due to lack of daily housekeeping but again if that isn’t important to you I would recommend this hotel.

DeSoto was very enjoyable. Facility is clean, staff is pleasant and respectful. We will definitely bring the family, including our dog, back.

We booked here last minute due to losing power at home with a newborn. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The room was clean and beautiful. We loved it!
