Hampton Inn & Suites Tallahassee Capitol - University

This is a clean and simple hotel with good staff. No complaints on this stay except for dirty guests (i.e.,spill stuff all over floor, not clean up after themselves, and their entitled children at the breakfast line). Best to avoid because guests seem ridiculously unaware of general food safety and cleanliness.

Disappointing. One morning I had some guy banging on the door to my room at 6:30am. When I asked who it was he just said “hotel”. So I opened the door to be see a strange looking man with a small dog on a lease. The dog tried to come in the room and I had to throw it out. I yelled at the man and shut the door. I told the people at the front desk and they said they would try to find out who he was. Although it is not the hotels fault on this incident, it is the responsibility to inform me of what they found out since I was traveling with a minor child. I asked the Asst manager about it when we got back later in the afternoon. He knew nothing about it. I asked for our room to be made up on the second day. This was not done even though the front desk confirmed we were on the schedule to be done. The lack of follow up and the lack of attention to detail on the staffs part was both concerning and disappointing.
