Kimpton EPIC Hotel, an IHG Hotel

Great staff, lovely location, healthy supermarket close by and if it’s good enough for a famous tennis player to stay at the hotel during the Miami open, it was certainly good enough for us. Great atmosphere by the pool. Would return again. Ideal for a family of four. Clean and comfortable, spacious room with balcony, thank you to the staff for upgrade.

Beautiful hotel. Staying as a family and the big hole in the wall keeping the bathroom open to all in the bedroom makes it difficult. Not a lot of privacy. Also not a fan of sliding door on toilet room. Otherwise, all is great!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family even strangers. This is one of the best hotel I’ve ever been to and will definitely be coming back . Thank you for such a great stay 10.10

Staying at the Kimpton in Miami was hands-down the worst experience in my ENTIRE life. My three small children (ages 5, 5 and 7) were trapped in an elevator for over 50 minutes. Then abandoned on the 20th floor in a pitch dark stairwell. After check-in, we went to the elevtor. While in the elevator, the power went out and we were trapped in between 19 and 20th floor. The elevator phone didn’t work, I had no cell service, and the camera was not working. I rang the phone at least 100 times and it would just ring and hang up. I began screaming for help. As you can imagine, that was very scary for me but more so my small children. In the middle of this, we heard an alarm come on over the loud speaker in the building and I believe it said there was an emergency – I believed it to be a fire. I had a large luggage cart on wheels in the elevator with my three small innocent children and in that moment thought that we probably would not make it. That we would fall and that this large cart would crush us. Finally, I heard a man say “are you ok” – a man on the 20th floor had come out of his room because he had heard me screaming. He called my husband and told him we were trapped in the elevator. My husband had gone to park the car and then went to the room. Management didn't know we were even in the elevator. After 50 minutes we were lead to a pitch black stairwell. I am limited in space but there KIMPTON was terribly negligent in numerous regards.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We had an extra family member arrive and they moved us to a suite as they understood that my older son and daughter could not share a bed

Previous guests' food still in fridge. Air conditioning does not work reliably. Doorbell malfunctions and rings randomly at all hours. Water in bathroom stops randomly (during a shower, for example). Housekeeping was unreliable as privacy light on/off door goes on by itself. Booked a Jr. Suite, stayed in a King room, had to have multiple discussions with managers not to be charged for a Jr. Suite. Pool DJ is super loud on weekends 12-4pm - impossible to work / kids to nap. Pool is very windy and unpleasant (umbrellas could not be opened, for example). Valet is a mess and getting your car can take 45 min.

We paid extra to be on top floor. We stayed on 29th floor. Room above us kept moving table back and froth all night. We had next door where there is door that divides the room. They had kids kept kicking the door early morning. AC kept turning off. I was surprised with. Over all ok.
