It was still partially under construction but it was a beautiful property and they were extremely friendly with my children. We also went during a heatwave and they always offered our family cold water after walking back into the hotel. Highly recommend and will return again.

We've just returned from a 5 day trip to DC staying at the Salamander. The hotel was wonderful and the staff were excellent, really looking after us and making sure we have everything we needed. There were three of us staying (2 adults 1 child) and the room we had (915) was wonderful, with great views over the Potomac and Regan airport etc. The in room facilities were great, large bathroom with Bath and separate shower and the AC worked a treat. Sadly no kettle in the room, but i think this is normal for USA? There were renovations going on during our stay, which meant the swimming pool was closed, however we didn't experience any noise at all, probably because we were on the top floor. The hotel kindly compensated us for the loss of the pool with extra food and drink credit which was appreciated. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit DC. Especially if you have children. I'd be more than happy to visit again, especially when renovations are complete.

Beautiful hotel. Great for our family trip to see the pandas @ the National Zoo. Walkable to wharf area restaurants & hop-on/off bus pickup, short Uber/taxi to zoo & other attractions.

My family stayed for 3 nights and the experience was amazing! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms and bathrooms were super clean everyday, and they provided a crib, fridge and microwave upon check in since I have a small toddler. The location is great and there is a shuttle service that can take you to nearby spots making it very convenient too. Overall amazing place and I would stay here again!

We would have liked a hot tub. We did not use the spa given it was extra. My kids were excited about a pool, but when they learned it was a lap pool, it was not as fun. Room dine-in menu was varied and good. Hotel dining ootions seemed limited - we are not buffet goers. The staff were ALL accommodating and personable. They made our stay! Morning coffee in the lobby for guests was appreciated.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great service. 10 min walking to the Wharf area (prob difficult walk for young kids) or quick ride share. After a long flight in the concierge surprised our kids with a lollipop at check in. Another day after sight seeing we walked in and there was a cotton candy station in the lobby. It’s the little things that make a stay great!
