Perfect hotel for families! Hotel was clean, beautifully designed spaces. Amenities were on point. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Food was great. Cannot beat the location! Near major points of interest and metro lines. Will definitely stay here again.

We loved Riggs. It was convenient and within walking distance to pretty much everything. We didn’t have our room cleaned the whole trip (our choice) but they were great and speedy about bringing us what we needed ie towels, toilet paper.
The bathroom is odd; door doesn’t open all the way and you basically have to squeeze between door and toilet to just get in and out of the shower. We managed but not ideal for everyone or if dealing w kids in there. Honestly think that’s the only negative.

The property has a unique feel being an old well appointed bank. There is tons of beautiful marble and is beautiful inside. The best part of our stay was the extremely friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this facility to friends and family.

Our family enjoyed our DC stay at the Riggs. Rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located to most tourist sites and the Metro. Desk staff and concierge service were extremely helpful securing museum passes and dinner reservations that made our trip more enjoyable and stress free. Highly recommend and would stay again!

I stayed at the hotel for two nights for a business trip, and it was terrific. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful all of the time. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. I slept like a baby. And the neighborhood was great--convenient to the metro and a lot of shops and restaurants, but not so crazy busy. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 4 nights in June 2022. Hotel service was excellent and friendly. Property condition was great. Was a little lagging sometimes when we needed ice brought to the room. Rooms were very nicely appointed. The one big thing that keeps me from rating this all “tops” is that the room we had was very small (esp for two adults and a 5 yr old) and there was no bureau or draws to put our clothes in. The sink was also pedestal style with only sparse room around the edges for our toiletry stuff. The restaurant was great. I would consider staying here again if just me (not family) and only for a couple nights. Having to keep all our clothes in suitcases and no bathroom vanity space was a little tough for 3 people for 4 nights.

This hotel was ok. Caveat: I believe we have the most basic room. Advertised as two double beds with a city view. Four of us (two adults, and 12 and 9 yo girls). So, we kind of knew we weren’t in for completely luxury. It’s clean, beautifully decorated, in a great location and the staff were all very friendly and kind. However, Expedia advertises it as family friendly. And it is…to the extent that they allow your children to stay there. However, the rooms are VERY small for the money (like you have to wiggle around the door to get out of the bathroom small). Ours didn’t have a tub…shower only. And there is no coffee or hot water in the room. Had to go down and pay $20/day just to get two small cups of black coffee each morning (and they always seemed unprepared for it). No desk or dresser. No vanity in the bathroom to put things on. We were there a week and had to live out of suitcases. And the restaurant is nice (again delicious for adults, but not for kids) so it turns into a bit of an attraction in the evening. Again, great for a couple…not so much for kids. They have a nice bar in the basement with what are probably great events, but no kids allowed (even though there is a giant gum-ball machine down there…don’t know who that’s for). And the beds are very FIRM. We stayed out of the hotel most of the time, so it was more of an annoyance, but next time we’ll pick a cheaper hotel in good proximity to a metro, that has a few more amenities.

Hotel looks nice from outside, but lots of problems inside. The elevator constantly broke, one time we had to wait half an hour and ended up taking stairs with kids stroller. Wall is paper thin in between the rooms. You can hear everything from the next door as well as everything in the hallway. The worse part is check out and hidden fees. I reserved two rooms with breakfast included, but they still charge me breakfast twice. And I had to call multiple times to get them response. To date, I’m still waiting on them to resolve. Being a 5 star hotel, the service certainly didn’t meet expectations and facility is also outdated.
