The Glenmark, Glendale, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

For an upscale hotel, this was not the experience prioritized by the establishment or the staff. The hotel is new and clean and comfortable and they offered to comp our overnight parking because we were under the rooftop bar and might hear noise. The rooftop bar and restaurant seem to be run separately but it was an embarrassing and ridiculously poor experience to be told upon ordering that we were sitting on couches with a $500 minimum, forced to move because we were not there for a full meal to spend that much and not receive even so much as an apology for the inconvenience from the hostess. Clearly no priority placed to make hotel guests feel welcome at the only restaurant available on site - only people coming there to be seen spending a ton. The drinks were so terrible we did not even stay to drink them or order food. The whole night there was a phone or alarm going off outside our door so not sure if the walls were just thin or what but the staff did not seem bothered by this when we told them it kept us up all night. We were visiting family who just moved down the street and it was extremely disappointing that we will not ever come back or recommend this hotel to family and friends who come in town.

We were in Glendale for a mini-family reunion. This hotel was perfect for us. Centrally located, near conveniences and lovely early morning walks. The staff was helpful and the rooms were tastefully designed. Our only issue is that due to Covid the hotel did not provide quality drinkware in the room, or the components of the coffee service. We asked for these and were satisfied, but perhaps these issues should be brought up by staff at checkin. Also, provisions were not made for tea-drinkers.
