The hotel is perfect location and beautiful. However they need to update the gasper junior suite as was very old and dated with cipped furniture and tiles etc. The wifi didnt work throughout the stay and reception said it was an external company. The reception were very accomodating and moved us to a beautiful new junior suite which was lovely. They also offered to store our luggage so we could go sightseeing after checking out. In summary, lovely hotel, great location, helpful staff but let down by wifi and an old outdated junior suite - avoid room 124!

This is an example of a boutique hotel being very overwhelmed by the amount of bookings and traffic that they are experiencing. They are simply too busy, and the front desk staff is very frustrated.
Be prepared that they cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-ins. I arrived at the hotel at 9:30 am on a Monday, and they couldn't support me. And on my day of departure, they wouldn't give me an extra 45 minutes.
The hotel is generally old. I saw stains on the walls and floors, and the gym was old and dilapidated. The bed and linens were generally uncomfortable.
They will try to upsale on the breakfast, I feel the restaurant was barely open, if at all.
Upon check-out, I had to sit in the lobby because they wouldn't allow me 45 extra minutes. In fact, at noon, my key card was deactivated. Not best practices.
I watched staff argue with check-in customers about an early check-in. The customer said lower your voice and you’re not being nice. Someone should teach you hour how to speak with people. Management was unavailable to help, and at some point the staffer said that she refused to give someone service because they were being so persistent about checking in early.
I watched another staffer argue with a family of three with a young girl who was told they couldn’t stay in a double room together. They were being forced into getting a separate room and the girl couldn’t have been more than room 10 or 11.
I wish I'd stayed at the Doubletree across the street.

Many thoughts on this hotel... I booked this specifically because of the beautiful pictures I saw online for their junior suites. Understanding that there was variance between some suites, I was not naïve to the notion to get my heart set on any one suite; that said, the junior suite that we paid for was a complete let down. Not only was it dated and drab, but quite literally dirty and hazardous. Within the first few moments of being in our room, we noticed cobwebs on the light fixture above the bed, and discovered used tea bags and open sugar packets in the ice bucket. The couch in the room had terribly sunken-in cushions, and there were nix and marks all over the walls. Not only this, my husband went to take a shower and the shower head fell off, nearly missing his foot. We went to the front desk to request if we could be moved, but the front desk staff offered little solution. One young lady was very helpful in trying to understand our disappointment, but the response was lackluster. That said, the morning staff did work to get us into a proper suite the next day; however, it was a let down knowing our time in London had to be split between our plans and moving rooms. The second room was absolutely stunning, and actually clean this time, but our first day was a let down. They did end up giving us a refund, but it only (strangely) resulted in a refund of $38, despite the inconvenience and hazard we faced. Best of luck if you book, but be prepared for the room you get.

The staff was very accommodating. I had an early flight and check in time wasn't until 3pm. The staff was efficient and helpful. I was comfy and checked in by 11am.😇. They made sure my family and I was comfortable and warm.

Don’t be put off by some of the negative reviews of this place. My guess is those were written by occupants of rooms 68 or 70 when some kind of water issue went down. Happens to the best of us… Didn’t seem like those rooms were being used and I’d just be cautious if they assign you one of those. Location is great. Breakfast is great. Rooms are A-OK and what you’d expect in London. Our family of three had a great stay there and I’d consider staying there again if the price was right. I’d just say don’t expect a 4-star hotel experience. Very curious how they are maintaining that status. Restaurant was closed, desk staff not always the most welcoming, and there were areas in obvious need of upkeep. Thermostat and phone were not typical of a 4-star property for example. But we had no need for either. It was generally like a solid 2.5 star hotel with a great breakfast in a fantastic location. Go in with those expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

The staff was amazing and very helpful. The hotel itself is in need of new carpet as the carpet is very stained and has a bit of odor. The junior suite was not very impressive no electrical socket in bathroom.

This was a very conveniently located hotel for a short family vacation in London. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean, and overall this was a pleasant experience.

This hotel has the best location in that it is a very short walk to Gloucester Road tube station, which has three different lines available. It includes the Picadilly which has a super ride to and from Heathrow Airport for less than 6 pounds each way.
Walking through some of the neighborhoods is a rwlaxing look back on times gone by with beautiful homes and gardens. Nearby there are also three differenr groceries with outstanding take out options for eating, quite freah and well priced. Just remember to bring your shopping bag, an item needed in most stores including Harrods.
The hotel is beautifully neat and clean with relatively new bathrooms with nice hot powerful showers. The rooms do show some wear with stained carpets abd some tears in the huge floor to ceiling drapes in the junior suite.
No charging outlets for phones or tablets is a minus and tge wild array of switches for things far away in the suite kept us flipping things off and out trying to light the bathroom.

The property was close to the underground and we were able to get everywhere we needed. Rooms were very small but doable for a family of 4 adults.
