Only a short walk from the underground station and lots of coffee shops and restaurants close by, the hotel is in an excellent location. Reception staff are welcoming and friendly and the lobby does indeed feel like it belongs in a luxury hotel. Beyond that though the luxury fades. Our room, a junior suite with plenty of room, was in desperate need of some TLC - the carpet dirty and stained throughout, cobwebs in the usual harder to reach places, an old mattress on the bed, a terrible shower that also flooded the surrounding area outside the cubicle and a spa bath that didn’t have working jets. It was also unbearably hot even on the lowest temperature setting which made sleeping very difficult and had numerous electrical sockets which did not work. Sky tv was a nice touch though for the limited time we decided to stay in the room.
