Hotel Xenia, Autograph Collection

This hotel is only two years old, so it is in very good shape and is very modern. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable (the mattress was on the firm side, so comfort is subjective). This hotel got great reviews and is why we chose it and it did not disappoint. Any reviews claiming the rooms were small were not untrue, but if you have ever traveled to a large city before, this is the size you get. We found the size to be fine (if fact much bigger than any NYC hotel we'd stayed in). We arrived quite early, but they could give us a room right away if we didn't mind a lower level room (if we could wait they would give us an upper level room). We chose the lower level with immediate availability (I wanted to shower after our overnight flight). It did not have great views (obviously) but the windows were large so the room was bright and didn't feel like the lower level. Bonuses of lower level: we were told the rooms were slightly larger; the rooms were cool; short elevator ride to our room :). We could not hesitate to stay on the lower level again. This hotel is located in Kensington. It was very close to two underground stations and walking distance to museums. We found it very easy to get around London from this location and there were some really good restaurants close by, as well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends/family.
