Holiday Inn Winchester, an IHG Hotel

Terrible service overall. They don’t pick up the phone at reception. They are not willing to help and the check was 1 hour late even though the bedrooms supposed to be ready by 3pm which is the official policy. They knew we have children to feed and sleep for naps. The beds are not comfortable and not good to sleep on.

Nice stay at Holiday Inn Winchester. Staff were accommodating of our early departure and opened b’fast early. Room was clean and spacious. Only criticism was that we booked a family room but the third bed in room was a collapsible fold up bed and it was very uncomfortable!

So far hotel was ok apart from the bathroom wasn’t so clean in my opinion. Dinning choices around were limited. Also the spa wasn’t for kid. My 3 year daughter was very disappointed. If I knew before I wouldn’t book this hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. As the hotel is part of a large chain, it had the feel of a family run hotel. The staff were great and any query by us was met with a smile and an answer or a solution

Good venue if you want a get together with family or friends. Staff helpful but there need to be more of them on the bar and restaurant, especially as my stay was over a weekend.

The room and hotel surroundings were excellent. Our room was spotlessly clean. The restaurant was only average. A family lunch was a disaster. No one was there to greet us and take us to the table we had booked so they knew we were coming. The two cooks said they had no idea where any staff were. Three beers and two wines we asked for were unavailable. We waited and waited and waited for someone to come and bring our meals from the cooking area, listening to the bell constantly ringing to tell staff food was ready but no one came. My daughter offered to go over and carry it to our table herself! In the evening the service was better but the meals were just alright. Nothing was specially good just alright. Such a shame the restaurant didn’t match the quality of the rooms, surroundings etc. Special mention must go to the Receptjon staff who were extremely efficient and friendly
