I had booked this hotel for a holiday with my children and parents during the half term. Despite not having electric vehicle charging points which I needed for my car, I went ahead and booked the hotel because my daughters really loved the pool and were keen on swimming. On arrival, we were told we had to pay an additional amount to use the pool facility. As irritating as this was, we were further told that children under 16 were not even allowed to use the pool. I honestly think this is a new low for hotel services. Food wasn’t great either. I only ate the breakfast because it was already paid for. I didn’t think it was possible to mess up English breakfast until I came to this hotel. We also had dinner at the hotel once and the food wasn’t great either. I’m quite sure the pizzas my children ate that night were from a frozen box and my £37 ribeye steak - what can I say. The gentleman that took our booking that night was very friendly and helpful and the staff that helped us during dinner were generally helpful. The staff at breakfast were also mostly lovely but a few were unhelpful. For instance, their self-serve hot drinks machine was not dispensing hot chocolate and the staff we asked just shrugged and moved on without offering to go make us some from the kitchen. Oh, and the pancake machine, it was either broken malfunctioning on some of the days. Altogether, I wasn’t impressed and I almost feel like I will never stay at a Hilton property again after this experience.

Hotel stay was generally very good. However the check in was very busy and took 15 mins waiting. Not nice when you have an impatient toddler. The room was stunning but unfortunately the pillows were very soft so I didn’t sleep very well. On the day of check out a cleaner just walked straight in to our room while on her mobile when I was in my underwear. Cleaners would always usually knock , so very dissatisfied as we still had 2 hours to check out.The breakfast was excellent the staff were very attentive.

Checked into a family room at £289 per night, to find a very small double bed, would expect nothing less than a king size. No cot was put up in the room despite us requesting and them confirming it would be up for our arrival. NO BATH in any of the rooms with the exception of a suite. How it can be called a family room with no bath is beyond me, had to bathe our 14 month old in the sink. Bar staff more concerned with throwing glasses around rather than serving. Childrens meals are all battered with chips covered in salt. Curry was microwaved I’m pretty certain. Would not stay and typical of a Hilton.

Coming from Premier inn to Hilton, the step up was clear. We stayed in a deluxe family room with a balcony overlooking the pitch. Felt like a holiday (balcony and view). Clean luxury feel, loads of towels and toiletries. Only thing missing was a mini fridge which should be considered as an addition for such rooms. Beautiful atrium with an even more beautiful grounds of a golf course and lake? Quiet location. Free car park with enough space. Staff were polite and helpful too. Just be aware spa and pool usage are not included in room prices. You have to book that as an extra. Will visit again.

We stayed as a family for four days during half term. The room was very clean an spacious over looking the ground. Fantastic views and balcony to sit on. The staff were friendly and food was great. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.
