The Hue Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

We’re a family of 5 so it’s hard to find a room with enough space but this hotel offered very spacious rooms and there’s even a small kitchenette. There’s 2 queens and a big sofa bed which is exactly what we needed. Rooms looked newly renovated as well and were very clean. We were so happy we stayed here again on the end of our trip.

The door was difficult for me to open with two small children on my own and the handicap button that would open it automatically would not work. The sound proofing in the building was not good. The hwy noise was quite loud.

This hotel is fine for an overnight stay. The location is easy to find and plenty of parking was available. The front desk staff were polite. What we found odd was for a room with two Queen size beds there were only 2 sets of towels. In addition, the room had a sofa bed which was wonderful. However, there wasn’t any bedding. We had to request additional towels and bedding and while not a huge inconvenience, I feel those items should have all been available in the room from the start. Another interesting thing was the absence of bedside table lamps. We had not noticed this until we decided to try and read a bit before going to sleep. I appreciated the size of fridge and the kitchen area in general. As a family who has allergies, we found it uncomfortable to sit on the couch as there was quite a bit of, what looked to be, pet hair on it as well as the surrounding rug. This did seem a bit odd given we had to confirm we did not have a pet with us upon check-in. Check out was straight forward. Having read some reviews I was not surprised that bagged breakfasts consisting of yogurt, granola bar and a juice box were provided.

Room was filthy. We stayed in pet friendly suite. Bed skirts were stained with pet urine. Comforters and pillows had pet fur from previous guests pet. My wife and kid broke out and got hives at bedtime from the fur on the pillows. We understand that the unit was pet friendly but staff should at least clean the rooms properly. Should be no evidence of another pet. Parking was bad too. Front lot was full and rear lot seemed sketchy. Breakfast was a joke. No breakfast bar like what was shown in hotel pictures. Just a brown paper go bag with warm yogurt and a granola bar was available. Coffee tasted like it was on the burner all day. Yuck. Will not be returning here. Expedia images are deceiving.

Nice room. No amenities in the hotel. The room next door had a few kids but I never heard a noise all night.

We booked this property because Expedia advertised it as “breakfast included” we literally got a brown paper bag with a child’s juice box, you hurt and granola bar. In the hotel pictures it shows a regular continental breakfast dining area complete with cereal, juice bar, and hot food center. We booked a double room for our family of four and only had two bath towels. No hair dryer either. For a newer hotel pretty disappointed.

The hotel describes itself as pet-friendly, and it is not. My reservation was canceled when they found out I had a pet (didn't even ask what kind), and my family had to sleep in our truck on the side of the road as everything was full. I will never book at this hotel again (even if it was free!).

We stayed twice on our way through Kamloops to and from Vancouver Island. Overall very pleasant and friendly staff, the room was nice enough with a kitchenette. We did have a few issues though: the pack and play crib we were provided for our 2 year old was not clean so we didn't bother using it, there were used towels hanging on the bathroom door, and the shower would not drain quick enough so the tub filled up. Those things got us questionning the cleanliness overall. The second stay we had similar cleanliness issues. There were food crumbs on the floor, we went to grab utensils for some food we ordered and found old cheese on the cheese grater, and my wife found two advil on the floor, which could've been bad if one of my kids found them. Overall the stay was pleasant, the staff was friendly, and the beds were comfortable and clean. I'd suggest hiring professional cleaning staff though or set cleaning standards.

Stay was an absolute dream. Was in Kamloops to stay with my grandpa for end of life transition and the staff were amazing, super friendly and they went out of their way to accommodate myself, my family and my dog. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall the stay was pleasant. Room was clean and the space is very roomy. We stayed with the kitchen so we can make meals for the kids and that’s a huge plus. Now the down side: all rooms does not have a hair dryer so make sure you bring your own. Also, twice I’ve stayed in this hotel and both time was told breakfast bags will be available till 09:30 AM. Both times I went down before that time and guess what… no breakfast available at all. Really need to work on the timing.
